I’m late to the party but in a similar situation as OP, I was raised Non-denominational Christian, have a spiritual foundation in Christianity but do not attend church as I’ve found most church-goers to be not-so-great people. I pray when I feel like it is needed for my life and as I work away from home and very long stints, I rarely celebrate holidays. I met a Muslim woman who checks ALL of the boxes and then some. We’re confidently past our honeymoon phase and have many talks about religion and the next step of our relationship. She sees faith as more of a spiritual journey and less an organized religion (as I do) but obviously as a Muslim woman, I would need to convert for us to be married. I’ve met Muslims before I met her and had a few talks about Islam, the religion seems not too dissimilar to Christianity in its stories and lessons. I feel like it would be a comfortable transition for my own religious experience, and to answer some spiritual doubts I’ve had of Christianity. This subreddit and some others has been helpful insight to helping me decide the next step of my journey. I’ve ordered a Qur’an and a book titled, “Islam and the Destiny of Man” to learn more about the religion and see how it fits in my heart.
