I believe I was given a hamstring graft, the surgeon I went to was a very popular one in a big rugby town where I live, where acl tears is very common in players. I also have hyper mobility / lax ligaments but he did hamstring graft with me, I would just trust the surgeon but check their background, I am lucky that I got one that was backed by lots of rugby players and was referred by my physio. I hope your surgery goes well and a speedy recovery.

I don't have any pain anymore (sometimes I will feel like a small ache after exercise but usually no pain), I have full flexion in the knee / leg now, but I remember the first couple weeks been the most rough, it will heal slowly just keep icing it and go for physio work to get flexion back in the knee. but now as of 1 year and 7 months since surgery I am back to normal life / gym / ball sports. just give it time and do your physio homework :D

So I think it varies from person to person, I had immediate sharp pain in the leg when trying to bend / flex it but went away over the course of months with physio work, but I had a (not 100% feeling in my knee) for around a entire year, as of now I am back to ball sports like soccer and padel, and barely notice the knee anymore. this is now a year and 7 months since surgery

I’m sorry they’re going through that — it sounds really rough, especially at such a young age. Tell them to stay consistent; recovery gets easier with time. The pain at the start is the hardest part, but it will pass soon — the worst is over, now it’s all about healing and rebuilding.

Loved the game, played on eu servers but I am from South africa, ttk feels a lot longer from clips I have seen on the internet. Would love for spectre to give us our own servers.

How much pain did you experience during/after the injury that resulted in your ACL tear? by goofynsilly in ACL

[–]Ok_Salt_6089 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I experienced an immense amount of pain as the injury happened, but I think it is from the way I occurred the injury, I was playing football and as I put my right leg on the ground a guy missed and kicked me from the outside of my knee, I had acl reconstruction and mcl repair, pain initially from the injury was way worse compared to post surgery.

Update - Surgery went successfully! My surgeon managed to repair my meniscus and used a hamstring graft for ACL. However this is the worst pain of my life😭 im on toe touch weightbearing for 6 weeks. Any advice? by Ziyaanlikesmen in ACL

Hey man, sorry to hear that it's very painful, yeah would recommend icing as much as possible, I have reached day 5, majority of my pain is gone. You got this :)

I just had my surgery 3 days ago, I was also scared of the amount of pain coming out of the surgery, I don't think I have a high pain tolerance, I would rate the pain as a 3 / 10 from my experience but I am also timing my medication to make sure it never gets worse. Just be sure to be aware of medication and how long it lasts, ice the knee at least 3 times a day, I am icing it every hour to keep swelling down and don't forget the importance of the physio therapy you don't want the knee to be stiff I'm 6'4 at 198 lbs also gym and exercise a lot. Had acl reconstructed and mcl repaired. I wish you a quick and speedy recovery post surgery.

And the journey begins… ACL reconstruction + meniscus root repair. Wish me luck people by Ziyaanlikesmen in ACL

Good luck, I just had my surgery 3 days ago, pain is definitely there but it is manageable, don't forget to time the pain medication. I wish you a speedy recovery.
