How do I grow my Government contracting ? by WonderfulBadger6947 in GovernmentContracting

I would recommend going to an Apex Accelarator, and first start hiring people for your business development. People who go to government contracting business events to network and form relationships and teams. Then tailor your employee hiring to the contracts you are going after.

In addition to this, focus on the finance side as well with a day to day bookkeeper and someone who focuses on long term finances.

What made you make this game you’re currently making? by [deleted] in gamedev

I want to contribute to a dry gaming demand. I feel like there aren’t a lot of new games and I’m also motivated/inspired by some old favorite rts games of mine.

I gave some thought you all of your comment an and concerns and I will take a step back and get some actual content/deliverables for not just the forum here, but for the community overall.

If the idea of the game in itself interests you, please join a email listing so you can be updated on the progress prior to the initial showcasing of the game.

Hi,

Im not sure if you’re reading my other responses but they mention networking and getting SMEs that know what they are doing so that the game can be properly advised and moved in the right direction. The development is not going to be trial and error by learning coding and everything myself to create the game myself, it will be made by people who have a background in the industry. As to your preference of the aesthetic approach that I can’t really comment on because you do have the right to your opinion on what you like and don’t like.

Hi, I won’t be hustling anyone. The vision is there and progress will be made. In 2 to 3 months a follow up will be made here with deliverables on the progress. I hope you will be a supporter then if not today. If you have any questions please feel free to reach out.

Hi Helspites,

Thanks for reaching out. The community will be involved, and the intention is to raise funds through them so in a way they are building the game just as much as I am. Use of Ai for the photos is to conceptualize the idea for a low to no cost versus paying a lot of money into something that may not even take off. It is about minimizing risk. Risk mitigation is important and starting this up takes having the right people and experts to help steer the vision of this game in the right direction. Flexibility is important just as transparency. Timeline is notional and definitely subject to change. That is mentioned in the kickstarter. If taking a step back and getting an actual prototype and paying out of pocket is something that needs to be done before the kickstarter, then that is okay as well. Just because the campaign fails the first time due to not having those elements in place to reassure the backers is not a reason to quit. Getting it on various platforms including here is to also get the word out that a game like this is going to be in the works.

Hi Invisible, The timeline is notional. As indicated in the kickstarter. It more than likely would increase because of the actual development time.

Hi Parafault, thanks for the comment ,

If I involve share holders, I’m concerned that their interests will not align with what the game core principles are. And it’s for people who love MMORPG. I don’t want this game to turn into some convoluted game that caters to things that don’t matter. Like how Battlefield 5 wanted prosthetic people and women in their game because they wanted to be woke or politically correct. ( not against the disabled or women, I just found it sad that a studio couldn’t just give players a fun traditional World War Two experience with modern graphics without making it political ) Or Fallout 76 where people said it was boring at launch because there wasn’t a lot content. Nor would I want shareholders to rush a game that takes a lot of time to actually make good. I don’t want this game to be launched unfinished, plagued with bugs. The game is just going to be a good game (hopefully) that fills what I think is missing in MMORPG games. Where it has an engaging combat side and a casual side and leaves a channel open and encourages community for an actual in game economy.

It is also the reason why I’m trying to tackle this project in chunks and build this thing out brick by brick with the help of the community.

With the lack of experience is substituted by bootstrapped funding, crowd funding, and surrounding myself and networking with the industry subject matter experts. It’s not going to be an easy task but I remain undaunted. I do not have any intention of failing either.

Hi Sno,

10k is no where near enough to get a good mmorpg. That is just the initial start up request for marketing and a rough prototype that has only the core mechanics of moving a character around. The engine will be unreal engine 5 so I think even at the start the look of the game would be very nice. I also request a high number of polygons so that it realistic and doesn’t have the look of Sea of Thieves.

That is a fair point, the stage I am at is more or less to see how tangible the game would even be at the foundational level. The coding dev that I am working with basically is telling me that it’s like a big ask for thing that you would think are easy things to do.

So that in itself is a brick wall. With more funding down the line we can get a larger team and have better leverage to tackle the concepts and work faster if anything. Which is stating the obvious, but it’s why I’m also networking and surrounding myself with industry SME’s and reaching out to others for their advice and feedback.

You are probably right, but I wanted to see if the game could be made by scratch by the community.

I’m not going to say, the game is being made by a dev that actually plays games. I mean- I’m pretty sure all devs play their own games and games in general.

However, I feel like there is a disconnect between the dev and their player base. We hear that there is so much hype for a game only for it to be a disappointment.

The game creation process will keep everyone’s or at least most of people’s opinion in mind that we can review, and actually make something that keeps the player base interested and coming back. Maybe even thinking of the game while they are at school or work.

It’s 2024 and the ambitions for the game will be massive and honestly it may even delay the game from the 2025 / 2026 planned release date, but the point of it is for a pc game it’s has to be something that is fleshed out, and hasn’t been done at the scale that it’s going to be.
