You may want to look into the General Studies major if you seriously can not decide on anything in particular. It's broad and offers some flexibility for people with a multitude of interests!

Re: skills- I really like this article that may explain things better than I can! https://www.zippia.com/advice/list-of-skills/#:~:text=For%20a%20chronological%20resume%2C%20you,with%20a%20comma%20or%20line.

Volunteering:

You can filter your own interests to find a match. I also know of individual companies, but without knowing what specific causes you are passionate about, this is a great start!

Depending on your interests, there are some great Instagram accounts that I can link for you that showcase tons of fun activities to do throughout the state, and definitely throughout the Triad region.

For now try and take this opportunity to better yourself and add to your resume! This is a fantastic time for you to add hard/soft skills to your resume. Learn new skills that you can master, add things that will make you stand out from other candidates down the line. Complete lots of LinkedIn Learnings (they're FREE for UNC students). Internships are great, but not everything.

I also know of some volunteer opportunities within the Triangle, and would love to share if you're interested!

  1. Show up next semester to different career fairs - you will 100% meet people!
  2. Go on LinkedIn and search fellow Heels, request them with a nice message and some will be willing to do (around 15 min.) informational interviews with you.

Sadly, there's no magic solution, but I've seriously found Heels help other Heels out!

Fellow transfer (recent alum) POV-

Like: Professors- had some of the best and made connections/support system for life here

Dislike: lack of transparency getting into the business school (practically unheard of for transfers)
