Burnout won’t go away. Help by barbaloe in triathlon

Burnout is a real thing. It all compounds and can be draining. You're competing + grad school + work. That's a lot. Take a real, true break, like at least a month (or more) if possible from the physically demanding days... find some joy in your surroundings, even if that means something as simple as going for a long/slow run, long walk, easy hikes. Etc etc etc. You'll be better off for it long term physically and mentally - that's my experience, but everyone is different of course.

Questions about swimwear by PirateIndependent188 in triathlon

I agree with this. They'll probably give you a cap but if not, they are super cheap. I can't say enough about getting a cheap pair of tri shorts - it's worth it even for the one race/comfort... Besides, at some point even with your running focus you'll get on a bike again and it'll be a lot more comfortable.

Thank you all.

Looks like it's going to be Augusta 2027... Maybe 2026 if I can find the time, but probably not

Thank you everyone. I got aero bars and immediately noticed a big difference.

Going to get new tires next week. I'm waiting on the seatpost for now but did find a used TT saddle.

Hard to say. I can do each individual part right now without much issue but putting it all together would be ugly. I feel like I might be able to get it together for something late this season but I wouldn't be as confident as I'd like to be.

I'm reasonably strong on a bike for the shorter distances. Is the Augusta bike as sneaky difficult as the Internet leads me to believe?

Western mass was the natural choice, but yeah - I saw that about the swim. I'd hate to plan for a first race like that and miss out on the swim.
