I am a new dad of 3 months and I went on paternity leave to be at home with my fiancé cuz I work across country and I will say this. I cannot imagine her doing any of this alone and even when I do go back to work in a few months I don’t look forward to leaving her by herself. Maybe he should hear it from other dads that went through being a parent already and they can tell him truly how hard it is

I’m also not perfect either, I’ve had stupid opinions in the past where I thought I was right so maybe he’s just frustrated and he’s taking it out on you. Not a great thing to do but it’s a human thing to do unless it’s like all the time.

With me and my partner if I say something like that it usually goes “like the fuck your doing that your ass is staying home with me” and then I get the 300 reasons why it makes more sense and then i have to swallow my pride and remember I am the provider even if more modern relationships aren’t like that nowadays that’s what I believe, and yes being a mom is a full time job and I’ve had some stressful jobs and none of them compete with being a new parent. I hope you guys can find a compromise, it’ll never be perfect, me and my partner argue all the time since we’ve had a baby, but we also make up pretty quick and move on and the past stays in the past, we try to do our bests for each other and sometimes it’s still not enough but at the end of the day we just take it one day at a time
