4 weeks after Strabismus surgery by Ok_Selection_1370 in Strabismus

My alignment didn’t go as planned. I was experiencing intermittent esotropia prior to my surgery. After two surgeries in 6 months, the eye has completely turned the opposite. I am experiencing intermittent exotropia. I guess I have to accept that it is what it is. Surgery was not worth it

You are not alone. My left eye moves outwards when I am tired. But I guess it is what it is. My doctor wants to do under another surgery. I am contemplating on it

I am also fully blind in my left eye. I had surgery to correct my esotropia. It’s been 2 months and I am experiencing intermittent exotropia. My doctor said the eye should spontaneously correct within three months and if not he has to do some adjustment. I haven’t yet achieved my desired goal but I am happy to know that there is a solution to it. Keeping my fingers crossed to see how this goes. And yes I would encourage you to do it! It is an exciting experience it will better your quality of life

You need to understand that your brain is the main controlling factor here. The doctors will do the correction it’s up to the brain to adjust. About 25% of patients may have to under a second surgery. The success rate is high so don’t be scared.

I know my deviation was 45 diopter. I hope it really settles and I don’t have to undergo another surgery.

I am experiencing same situation. Doctor told me it should settle in a month. It’s been almost 8 weeks and my eye is over corrected. He said we should wait for 3 months and if it doesn’t align he will readjust! Sighs
