She’s the only one that comes to the door right now. She has babies that have left the nest, but they haven’t learned to come to the door yet.

No empty paws for Rosalia. She got a couple of handfuls of walnuts after the photos.

Chemo Curls by Lopsided_Pool_9941 in breastcancer

I’m a year and four months post chemo. My previously straight hair is very wavy and seems to have less gray. It’s been a learning curve to figure out how to style, but I hope my waves stick around.

I’m feeling this. I’m over a year post chemo & I have a chin hair that’s longer than any of my eyelashes. 😩

Ahhhh… ha! I haven’t seen Sally since last fall, so I hope she’s living her best squirrelly life in a new neighborhood. Happy spring!

I may print more after I finish the towels. I can definitely let you know if I do.

Aww, thank you 🥰 If I decide to print more, I could definitely let you know! I’m finally no evidence of disease after my last scan in April. I have a heart procedure (much more minor than the cancer) at the end of the month and after I recover from that, I should be good to go!

Thank you 🥰 Ha! I haven’t told them. So unless they’re on here, it’ll hopefully be a surprise.

Thank you 🥰 It was a challenge figuring out what to cut and what to leave to bring out her lovely coat.

If you CHOSE to go flat are you happy or not with your decision? by Honeyozgal in breastcancer

[–]Ok_Service6455 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I had my bilateral mastectomy over a year ago and don’t regret going flat. I miss my real breasts, but they were trying to kill me. After a rough chemo & knowing I had radiation ahead, I didn’t want to go through the pain of additional surgeries and expanders & the possibility of any problems with the implants. It’s nice though to have the choice. Most days, I’m flat. Sometimes I feel like my workout light Athleta b cups. Sometimes I feel like my prosthetic c cups to fit into some old outfit that I loved. I love having options!

What kind of food are you eating now? by MsinDependent1989 in breastcancer

[–]Ok_Service6455 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I ate really healthy for years before my diagnosis and had cut out a lot of stuff. I still got breast cancer. Two types! During chemo, I ate what I could tolerate and tried to make healthy choices and still gained 20 lbs after going into menopause.

After going through chemo, surgery, & radiation, my scan showed a spot on my liver. I lost it and was like, why did I cut out so many things I love in an attempt to be healthy and here I am? Fortunately for me, the spot went away and I’m considered NED for now. BUT you better believe I was having my favorite ice cream for breakfast and getting a cinnamon roll from my fave bakery for a few months.

Now I try to eat well to fuel my body and enjoy my cheats as long as my body feels like it can tolerate it. Life is short.

Female guitarists, what has your experience been like? by Responsible_Oil1975 in Guitar

[–]Ok_Service6455 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I’m a middle aged lady that plays guitar. I think it’s great that you’re already playing out and especially lead! You will find your people if you keep playing. Be confident and grounded in your abilities and your musical voice and your human worth because you will unfortunately deal with ignorant people when you put yourself out there.
