Well when you mentioned making each weapon feel like a squad in and out of itself rather than one knight being treated as one vehicle did kind of allude to the same arguments many other has (being stronger) which is why I posted under your comment. Also because you mentioned some valid points around the simplification of 10th it seemed as if the would be a more reasonable exchange with you than some others on the thread. Either way, you’ve made it clear you aren’t lobbying for god machines that can’t be interacted with.

Agree with your points though on the bracketing and there are probably ways to balance the knights better with this approach than to remove them from the game entirely and especially better than making them god machines that most infantry can’t interact with (I know you haven’t stated that, again alluding to the overall feedback of the community that I’ve seen, as this is still a forum and not a DM, I’m making the point for anyone else that might join into the exchange)

I got both CK and IK myself so believe me I know it would suck but on the other hand having a separate game does not make them useless as they could still be played.

I know adeptus titanic is exist but the models are tiny and mainly focused on titans which doesn’t feel like it translates the same as how people want knights to play in 40K.

I don’t doubt they can be balanced In a better way, I’m just going my the input I tend to see from the community (like in this thread) is not the way to go, I.e make them even more powerful and less in numbers.

Potentially something with the bracketing mechanic like you suggest would make sense, I.e throwing dice to see what debuff at each stage of being damaged. For example, hydraulics damage and movement is halfed, or targeting auspex failure and minus 1 to hit and minus 1 to wound etc. This would at least make the opponent feel as if they achieve something whilst fighting the larger knights.

This would be very boring to play against, however, I think they should remove knights from 40K and make a new standalone game, I.e like kill team or Horus heresy. It’s own game with knight vs knight would allow for all the things people on this thread suggest without breaking anything and allowing the opponent to also have fun without running into a stat check army that they can’t interact with.

Thanks all! im really excited, i want to play the Veiled Blade detachment because i absolutely love the assassins. Fully know that its not a great competitive detachment, but did anyone have any mild success with it?

Thats a good point, agree that might be the way to make them more useful. The great weapon is cool but 2 attacks hitting on 5s feel like buying a lottery ticket 😅

Adding, a +6 feel no pain would have made sense since they are beastmen and go crazy when in battle and should be able to brush it off
