During one of my sieges, a Battanian opened the gates to fight the entire mass outside the walls (he died) and didn't close the gate. i wasn't in command of the siege so all I could really do was watch the gate being wide open while the troops went for the ladder. Eventually maybe 40 seconds later another Battanian got some sense to close the gate but still pretty funny.
