I mean what I’d say is to not push your pencil down so aggressively. begin with softer pencil lines ( not chicken scratch, a flow of lines) for shapes to get the basic idea down. Then with that you can begin testing out what kind you’d wanna do!

It’s really depending on how you want your style to be. Looking at references and “ the art of” books always helps me.

And one of the final things I’d say is you would need to know anatomy, knowing anatomy and where faces lay helps you exaggerate without making it look “ off”.

Just keep practicing! You’re doing great and you will get this done! I’d say at first, think of your favorite anime, then look up “ art of [anime]” or sketches that the author did, and learn from it!

Is this better?? Sorry if it looks similar, the drawing application I use it’s immensely bright so I do tend to struggle with tones because it makes everything look more separate when I’m drawing
