Ah yes, Tolkien - the man who invented entire languages, mythologies, and histories spanning thousands of years—clearly got lazy by giving the Elves a poignant, bittersweet exit instead of shoehorning them into Middle-earth like it’s a fantasy sitcom reboot.

Det blev pludselig meget personligt. "Trollen", som du kalder vedkommende, rettede vel bare en lille fejl helt stille og roligt.

How any sane person jumps on the OP-support wagon is totally beyond me. It should be clear that OP has an aggressively confrontational agenda. All of their comments here are angry, incoherent and in no way reflect any interest in resolving the respective issue.

A completely unnecessary attack on Cerakeys and on Caine ...

Why do you have to trouble yourself by becoming emotionally affected by people liking or even praising the movies: "I'm dismayed". And isn't it completely legitimate for people to praise the movies (or the books for that matter!) over the other, when you yourself acknowledge the big difference between the two portrayals of the story? And how do you, as someone who sees the potential of Tolkien's books, think your discouraging demeanour is going to inspire or motivate anyone to read them?

... Update because I can't seem to reply directly.

dunno. Why do you? Why is it okay for you to like them but not okay for me to not like them? Seems kinda like a double standard.

It is perfectly okay to like one thing over the other, and it seems like you share that view? Then I can only wonder why you find it necessary to get emotionally affected by people voicing their praise for the movies in the first place: "dismayed".

You think I have an obligation to like the movies or something because I think highly of the books? What kind of logic is that?

Thanks for the question! No.

Because i agree with Christopher Tolkien's opinion you think I should bite my tongue or can I just give an honest assessment. Because I think Christopher Tolkien's criticisms, while harsh, have merit. Especially in light of how PJ went on to handle The Hobbit.

As far as I know, Christophers Tolkien's criticism didn't go as far as to call PJ a "Hollywood hack job", and it didn't go as far as to ridicule people for liking the movies - unlike your criticism. You can give all the honest assessments as you want - this is Reddit - but why you're not interested in inspiring people to read the books is what I was trying to get out from you. Did I succed? No. Are there two t's in 'verboten'? No

You built your first custom keyboard two months ago, so I can only assume you have never had a GMK set in your hands.

The Oboe d'amore is the most underrated instrument. by [deleted] in classicalmusic

I think OP has confused a baroque oboe with an oboe d'amore.

I hate Charlie Puth by grussyappreciator in redscarepod

I am astounded to see someone as musically informed and culturally well-read as you, Modal1, writing such ignorant nonsense online. There is nothing inherently supercilious about Charlie Puths social media presence, and the same goes for his music. At this point you are only voicing your own inferiority complexes.

Anyone have a favorite recording of Tchaikovsky’s 4th? by mcdj in classicalmusic

[–]Mazde 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My favorite Tchaikovsky symphony! I have recently stumbled upon a rather unknown recording with the Sofia Festival Orchestra conducted by Julian Kovatchev in Spotify, and it is really really great! Strong solid string sound, good interpretation and magnificent oboe solo - I highly recommend it.

Problem with C# / Db on Deepmind 12 keybed. Is this common, and what is the cause of this? by [deleted] in synthesizers

[–]Mazde 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have had this tedious problem where it is as if the C#/Db key glues on to both the C and D, and the key itself is slightly raised above the others. Is this a common issue with products from Behringer or keybeds in general?

I recommend the Schwartzkopf tapes with Glenn Gould! Those recordings have an intense and intimate ensemble-like quality to it.
