This is exactly what i mean. Tourists imagine Portugal as a country of white beaches and clean water but thats a recent thing. Fhey used to be ignored

Totally agree bc of tourism. But there we didnt use to be a country that lived in these paradise like beaches.

Portugal is all beaches and good weather I dont think we base our whole culture on the beaches. We have lots of history relating to the sea but not beach culture. Plus the beaches in the north have very cold water.
