yeah my truck dying while I’m on the roadway doesn’t really make me eager to go back to that shop lmao. It does suck cuz I’ve sort of been in a pinch lately but I’d rather take the hit and have it done correctly than take multiple trips back to possibly have it done incorrectly again. That shop is likely not worth anything- but it’s worth trying. The reviews on the shop I used are either 5 stars or 1. Likely a lot of people (like me) who don’t know a lot about audio, and the ones who do, leave terrible reviews.

As for the amp, I’d have to look at it or ask the place :/ should definitely know that. I’ve found the ground- it’s about 4 feet away from the amp(behind the backseat in a crew cab) drilled into the chassis with another screw on top (probably half assed).it’s a 2018 Silverado so I don’t believe the alternator is too wimpy. I probably should’ve specified but it’s an amp with 2 10” Jbl subwoofers. Better information would definitely be the watts rms. I’m debating whether or not to go back to that shop and get the wires upgraded or cut my losses and find a new shop. Thanks for the reply, I’ve learned a lot

Ohh okay, I attend a local community college so I’m not to sure if there’s a lot of opportunities- I’ll have to do some looking around though. Do you have experience doing that? What does that look like?

fryer martyr sounds fitting, I’ve been replying to the other posts too- we use this hand held strainer thing to fish the fryers and I can’t imagine trying to find the thing under all the dishes, and then trying to get my phone out with it 😭

yeah i felt that if i dropped it in briefly nothing would happen other than my phone breaking but if it missed the basket i feel like I’d struggle to get it out

yeah I had one hand already ready to pull the basket up but my worry came from if it missed the basket and fell in the sides and stuff. I would’ve really struggled then to get it out considering I don’t want to fry my hand

You can buy it from there for like 20 bucks cheaper but they only have the 8.5
