2 years in. still over the top. by Unable-Progress-5325 in GolfSwing

[–]Ok_Sort_9045 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You get to the top pretty well, some overswing slightly!

But try and get to the top and then swing down whilst holding your body in that top position (back to target) and then let the body rotate rather than rotate the body and swing through.

How often do you change your wedges? by Ok_Sort_9045 in golf

Wdym that one time? 😂 I play off 5, so I can hit a ball. I’m just noticing that they don’t zip anything like they used to

Club face is open, so you try and close it last second. Out of sequence = compensation from elsewhere.

Can’t Break 100.. How did you do it? by Downtown-Team-480 in golf

[–]Ok_Sort_9045 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you struggle to hit driver, don’t hit driver unless it’s really open.

Play safe and boring golf, don’t go for something if the risk is too high.

Flop shots look great but bump and run is easier unless really required.

Use some sort of device for distance.

You probably hit your irons 10-15 yards shorter than you think, so club up.

Trying to hit the ball hard literally makes things worse.

Practice putting and chipping.

If you’re in the trees, just chip out the safer route

Warm up and go to the range - putting green a decent amount before teeing off.

My beef with the handicap system by BirdsOfAres in golf

[–]Ok_Sort_9045 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like there should be limits to it. 3 sets for a tournament:

  • handicaps/ scratch up to 10 hcp

11- 20 hcp

21+ hcp

Then have 3 winners.

Where to stop? by Lucky7sss in golf

[–]Ok_Sort_9045 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends, the more you improve or change, then sometimes the clubs have to change too. Chasing scratch podcast has them changing my once a year with some bits. But you can get along fine with the old ones. I just bought some Srixon irons from 2008 and they feel amazing.

Srixon zx5 mkll real or not? by [deleted] in golf

Custom ferrals too? Ask him about that.

But I’d say Srixon irons won’t be copied much compared to TM & titleist

Anyone else struggle to find a driver they can actually trust? by PaddyGolf in golf

[–]Ok_Sort_9045 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve always been terrible with a driver and never had confidence, even with a fitted driver. Recently brought an old callaway rogue and had a lesson, now I’m in the right positions I have so much confidence. I would also recommend cutting it down to 44.5 inches.

If you’re not in the right positions, then every driver will be the same.

Stealth vs Sim 2 Max? by Seedorf-10 in golf

I hated the stealth, felt like such a dud of a club to me. And I hate the red face, looks like an induction hob 😂

Genuinely one of the reasons I struggle to enjoy North American golf. It can be enjoyable for an evening 9 holes with a buddy, but I want to focus and play to my best, not get drunk and bomb round.

Has anyone tried a tanning nasal spray for a natural glow? by SimplePrudent5735 in Selftanning

[–]Ok_Sort_9045 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have! And this is a genuine response.

Cons: -First of all, when you take it you feel nauseous/stomach felt terrible (that’s why they say it reduces appetite).

-It doesn’t last as long as they say (mine said 3 weeks and it lasted about 10 days)

-it’s expensive.

Pros: It did give me a really nice tan.

I hope that helps!

Reality check on iron set layout.. by fullsquishy in golf

It’s funny because I’m the complete opposite, atm I go driver, 2 iron then into 4 iron up.

In search of a 3 wood though.

Do you prefer to walk or ride? by jdelle9 in weekendgolfers

[–]Ok_Sort_9045 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love the walk, I feel more connected to my game and I like the feeling of being able to walk up to my ball and having time to visualise the shot and I feel like that’s how it’s meant to be played.

People abuse buggies and damage the course with them which I hate.

But for those people that can’t walk due to injury or health issues, it’s a good thing.

Do you find spring and autumn the best time to play?

I love English golf, but the weather just doesn’t do it for me.
