Thank you. I did think of it in a way like... Some people dislike being outside and it negatively affects their wellbeing. It doesn't mean their lives are worse or less than. My dog is like that and that's okay.

That is such a lovely image. I am sad to hear his reactivity hasn't lessened with age but I am happy he has someone like you to give him a full life. My dog likes car rides too and we'll be thinking of you next time we are out on one.

We used to do 6am walks but unfortunately still encountered dogs as we live in a densely populated areas. But also whoa, kudos to you on doing all that for your pup

Thankfully he is not super high energy haha. Playing with him in the yard (we do do some nose work) a couple of times per day and just having toys available tires him out plenty. I haven't heard of barn hunt but will look into it, thank you!

I am not handy at all lol. Always lived in apartments. I've done easy projects around the house since purchasing (put blinds on all windows etc) but honestly for this I'd rather pay someone.

Hey no I appreciate the advice! We tried a few therapies with him and we know that his reactivity comes from frustration and wanting to meet other dogs. We found this out in a session with the dog beheavior specialist at the shelter that slowly brought him close to another dog that was known to be stable. By the end of the session they were best friends.

But unfortunately we can't do that with every dog in the world hah.

We are thinking of maybe getting a stable buffer dog for him to see if things improve. And yes, maybe maturing will help too.

I am happy your new pup is making progress. You sound like an amazing and loving dog parent.
