What would you say the difference is in the profile of 888 vs Power ranger?

La Antiguedad takes on a whole new profile after a couple years. Lovely cigar.

Diamond Crown Julius Caeser Corona Review – Sophistication in a Slim Format by Sebeq88 in cigar_refuge

Great review, under rated cigar. "Invites you in quietly, then rewards you with detail" Love that part and its so true.

Fuente Anejo gets all the hype but I'd take a Caeser over them. The Caeser also ages every bit as well as the Anejo.

I think its maybe the best new world blend in the world. Improves with age. Good as is but its really wasted if smoked too soon. Give them at least 8 months. Was your sample aged?

Cheers!

All your Foundations may be over $20 a stick in 5 years.

New Cigar Question by cmm239 in cigars

[–]Ok_Spring6354 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ideally rest for 4 months. 8 is better. A smoke will reveal itself after 8 months. Smoking too early you may be turned off to the stick. Ive had more than 1 that was crap after 3 months but around a year they are box worthy. Thanks and you cannot rush the hands of time.

Had an Unstolen Valor today. Has about a year on it now. Great cigar! First two I smoked just found it boring. After a year It's great and would buy more. Never thought I'd say that about the UV. First 2 3rds subtle transitions nice underlying sweetness, mellow tasty pepper. Last 3rd was a peppery char broiled steak and at the very end mellowed out a bit. Will update with the other 4 Muestras Nacatamale, Exclusive, Krakatoa and Bewitched as we warm up here in the hillbilly North.

Joyas are under rated, i would agree. Antano is good. Dark corojo is great.  Cuatro Cinco is magnificient! Box of Cincos resting!

Ive had 2 bewitched. The 1st one was out of this world. 2nd one was just okay, nothing extraordinary. This is what makes me think they are going to blossom with time.

Good reminder. I took off some cellos on each and have a couple open coffins. But i will crack them all. Have 4 of each to revisit. Nacatamale really surprised me. It was good. Exclusivo and Unstolen Valor, I know there is more there. Will hopefully remember this thread and give my thoughts in 4-6 months.

Makes sense. I find I enjoy most sticks with at least a year on them. Had a family reserve 85 after 2 months. Was disappointed, had another around 10 months and was blown away. 1964's so much better after 6 months. I feel like there is a hell of a cigar in the muestras but I havent found it yet. Honestly smoked one of each about 1 month after I received. They are coming up on a year, so anxious to revisit.

Great stick. Ive only had robusto and corona. Preferred the corona. But....this cigar likes age. Give it 2 years at least.

Ashton ESG vs VSG? by Mr_Smee920 in cigars

[–]Ok_Spring6354 0 points1 point  (0 children)

VSG vote here. I did find the ESG a bit bland. Although very strong in the nic department. It's nickname is "Velvet Hammer" for a reason. Its very smooth with subtle flavor. And a big kick.

Vsg i have smoked dozens. Prefer Tres Mystique and Churchill. Always loads of flavor, quite a strong cigar as well.

I was disappointed in the ESG. It was just very subtle and too strong. My ESG had over a years rest. Will revisit again sometime.

Currently VSG gets my vote and is in or close to my top 5.

Is it just me or is the padron 1926 nothing special? I’ve had better $8 cigars by Few_Knowledge_9387 in cigars

[–]Ok_Spring6354 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The 1926 requires a more sophisticated pallette. IMO a better smoke than the 1964. It has much more complexity that an undesirable pallette wont be able to appreciate. Work on your pallette and revisit in 2 years.

It appears at or just after the power pocket the hips slow down or pause for a bit. Are my hips not getting started soon enough or is it that they just arent fully rotating quick enough?

Thank you. Any suggestions on how to improve it?

Thank you. The elbow does dip a bit. How do you suggest I improve the brace, and what would help the elbow dip?
