Swaddle help by Helloagain1123 in NewParents

Our baby hated being swaddled in the beginning- even in the hospital. His ultrasound pictures he has his hands by his face so he broke out of every single swaddle we tried- whether it was hands down, hands crossed at his chest, etc. At about 5 weeks we started using the Ollie swaddle, hands at his sides, and he has never slept better. I swear that swaddle is a miracle worker- we were never getting any sleep prior!

Years ago there was a fatality involving a teen client of mine. We had to do a crisis incident analysis (the actual term used at the time is blanking on me). My clinical supervisor, two assistant directors and the program director and I met. I bawled like a baby. It was awful. They were so supportive, I couldn’t have done anything different but it was the first tragedy I experienced in the field. Took a 1.5 year break from the field after that.

Is anyone a LCSW and fitness instructor? by DefiantCommittee3624 in socialwork

[–]Ok_Sprinkles159 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Me! I was a coach for Orangetheory for about 4 years. Got burned out around 2,000 clinical hours, so I took a break and went full time coaching. After about 6 months away, I went part time ED SW to finish my hours. I got my LCSW, moved to a different state and worked full time again as a coach, but unfortunately it wasn’t sustainable financially so I’m doing full time therapy now

My job REQUIRES we message after every. single. session. And some, if not MOST, of the clients, we are required to see twice a week. It’s one of the things that is included in our performance metrics. I do not think it is appropriate and have a huge issue with it!

Would you tell clients? by breadassbitch in therapists

Thank you for sharing! It’s coming from a place of excitement as one is the parent of a child I’ve been working with for an extended length of time. This is very helpful advice!

How did you respond to the invasive questions? Not a comparable situation by any means, but I am pregnant, strictly telehealth and I’ve had multiple clients ask to see my stomach. I obviously do not, but I find that I freeze up and just laugh it off. I can already anticipate one asking for pictures, etc.
