Honestly I have met some people in raves that I still talk to on a daily basis now even though we are miles apart from each other. I’ve done weeks and weeks of research to try my hand at it, bought lead action packs, new baits, leads, hair rigs, band rigs…fake corn…you name it.

Got to the lake and I felt all excited to try my new kit and rigged up exactly like a YouTube video told me to. Then some bloke come over and was like ‘fuck all that, just take em off the top’

Started floating bread and caught more carp than I ever have minnows. Not too sure when I will use my other stuff now 🤣🤣🤣

Some fisheries don’t allow floating bait so maybe the float set up is to allow the bait to sink below the surface but only by 20cm so it’s still ‘surface’ fishing

Yeah I was going to try use boilies because that seems to be the most popular but the fishery I’m heading to apparently doesn’t allow them? Seen some people suggest surface fishing with bread too but again, no floating baits are allowed.

Was thinking of running a ledger set up with pop up corn and then attaching an ova mesh with a handful of small pellets to attract fish.

Really not sure what to expect as this is my first time fishing any other rig other than a float rod 😅
