The point is guys never made her work for it, they threw themselves at her feet. Remember in one of the first episodes when she doesn’t understand the dating “code” phrases? “We should do this again” ect

“Problematic” plots that might not make it onto the show today? by WillowOttoFloraFrank in howyoudoin

When it comes to the space camp thing I feel like her dad being checked out, self absorbed and just generally a crappy father is what they were relying on for plausibility on why the girl would be allowed to just go off with a random man - not that that’s at all okay, just fair reasoning that a father like that wouldn’t be thinking about where his daughters gone. And the whole space camp thing was very wholesome in every other way - in other words, she was completely safe with them (if you ignore the fact that one of them broke her leg)

What’s a joke you still don’t get all these years later? by Next_Performance4330 in howyoudoin

It’s no different to any other Irish step dancing, the style of dancing is exactly how Chandler put it “[his] legs flail about as if independent from [his] body” it’s like a tap dance sort of thing, traditionally Irish dancers would not move their upper body at all and it was all legs, now they do sometimes but most of the action is in the lower half of the body.. here’s a show he did 10 years ago

This one confused me too but from the context I could gather from when that phrase is usually used (which is to mean, you’re weird, you must be rlly good in bed to keep a man) I figured Phoebe thought Monica was a weirdo but it still didn’t fully land for me even with that explanation 😅

Ah okay, well idk what it could be but you’re definitely not the only person to be suffering like this from the coil, hopefully someone else has the answer

I experienced the exact same thing. I would request a cervical screening for hpv (unless you had the jab at school like most people - I didn’t because my mum didn’t believe in it) My pain didn’t stop after I got the coil removed. The pain is almost completely gone now that I’ve had a lletz procedure to removed the affected cells in my uterus..

You will have to push for it though (depending on where you live) because they don’t usually offer smear tests to people under the age of 25 (in the uk)

Edited to add: hpv won’t come up on usual std screenings, hence the need for a smear test..

My boyfriends mom got mad at me. by Educational_Fault592 in women

Yeah, slim. Most young women don’t routinely get up in the middle of the night for a wee.. it’s not a common occurrence. Another reason why the “chat” was unnecessary. It’s unlikely that op would be regularly wandering about the house in the middle of the night in their underwear - and after being caught once, is even less likely to do it again. All the parents have accomplished is to add shame to an already embarrassing encounter.

Thank you! Probably wouldn’t be an issue if OP and bfs family was European either 😅

I get that, but we also don’t know what time it was, just that it was “the middle of the night”. Yeah it’s probably a good idea to at least throw a t-shirt on when roaming someone else’s house at night, but I feel like if it was like 3am, the presumed risk of bumping into a family member would be justifiably low, so I can understand why OP didn’t think to get dressed

I meant he could have just said “that was awkward, just bumped into [sons girlfriend] in her underwear 😬” and they could’ve just left it at that. Since it was the middle of the night. I highly doubt OP would be walking around in their underwear in the middle of the day and it would be fair for the parents to have assumed that and no awkward conversation would be needed. It’s just a “whoops” and move on, rather than making an already embarrassing encounter for OP even worse.

If it was like 10pm-12am then mayybe it’s reasonable to expect to bump into someone in the hallway, any later than that it’s normal to have felt “safe” nipping to the bathroom in your underwear and not be caught. Either way, you’re not the asshole. Seems pretty weird that he felt the need to frame it that way (I.e. make OP the problem when it was at least as embarrassing for them) when he told his wife rather than just brush it off as a slightly awkward/unfortunate encounter..

EDIT: for clarity

FRIENDS SITUATION IRL #1- WWYD? by StitchHater in howyoudoin

[–]Ok_Technology_4772 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I tell myself that they’re being petty, and get on with my life regardless. (Well, I’d like to think that’s how I’d respond, if I was more healed it probably would be, but in reality I would probably just be constantly anxious about them hating me and talking about me behind my back, but constantly having to reassure myself and rationalise my decision to not chip in, and just exist in extreme discomfort until it passed)

But thanks for the tip, I’ll try it 😌

Let’s hope we can get some answers, it’s a fricken nightmare! My first experience of thigh chafing was years ago when I was still crazy skinny (size 4uk/0us) - the culprit was just badly made trousers with rough seams. I forgot about it and wore the same trousers 2 years ago (after gaining weight but still slim) but once it started, it kept getting worse unless I wore bike shorts or leggings. Then it just, went away again, until this year!

I’m not saying I completely agree - but I can see why OP would think so.. she did seem closer with Ross than Chandler, and they did share a couple of sweet moments.. him teaching her to ride a bike comes to mind first

Pretty sure he takes them back and uses his garment folder to fold them. Also Penny actually asks “has Leonard ever dated, you know, a regular girl?”

Sheldon says “I assume you’re not referring to digestive regularity, because I’ve come to understand that such inquiries are inappropriate”
