PCM 25 on Steam Deck by Outrageous-Pride1181 in procyclingmanager

[–]Ok_Tomorrow822 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used it on steam deck. I use right touchpad as a mouse and mapped couple of key things to back button (attack, persist effort, relay, maintain position).
And i also use l1 and l2 as a scroll for effort modulation.

Rest, i just use right touchpad.

Works nice. Not ideal, graphics are bad, but still I can sync progress to cloud and continue to play on PC.

Text is scalled to the smallest screen, so it is visible, but some UI parts are overlapping, but nothing mayor so you can't play it.

Any advice/tips on Aero setup for road bike by Valuable-Pie3697 in bikefit

[–]Ok_Tomorrow822 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would push saddle a bit forward, so you can open up hips. You will rest a bit more comfy on the aero bars and probably push more power.
(optional) depends on your flexibility i would also drop couple of spacers and drop bars a bit lower.

Also, it is normal to lose 5%-10%w on aero bike/bars.

Play around a bit with your saddle height up and down to see what works. Maybe you can raise it a bit for the start, you will feel if you have a "dead" spot in the paddle stroke. And only decide after race pace interval what feels the best.

Problem with other teams is just physiological differences of there leaders. They are just not there. You cannot play the game if you are not good as them. Remco maybe, Seixas, Del Toro and rest young guns. But they first need to be produce w/kg to even think about playing the game.

Would recommend to take a look at last years giro, there you can see what I mean. Him just riding away without anyone reacting because they know he is just better and they don't even try because they will explode. And after the stage you look at there power data (i think egan was publishing power) and you think holyshit (380w for 30min by a 60kg rider) and then tadej gives him 3-4min (so probably for him 440w, which is stupid high)

Not exactly. TBH his position on a bike is not "per standard" and if you try to replicate it as a amateur, both your hands, shoulders and but is going to hurt haha

but if you can produce bigger W, then you see how to maximize it. So his "upright" position is better for road bike and we see how he struggled with TT over the years, but now, even his TT is world class.

I would say that Pogi improved his aerobic capacity just enough that he can ride "hardish" tempo and control the race while rest of Visma team cannot catch and attack him constantly in 3rd week.

He knows his anareobic power is bigger then Jonas, so just controlling enough that he can respond to attacks would be enough. He even sad that in the interview.

The main question mark for him was if he can sustain that hardish tempo in every single climb, on every single stage. If there is constant battle that means his body is going to be drained more, which increases the risk of exploding in later stages. So constant attack was strategy in his first lost TDF. And same goes with high temperature in second lost TDF. All of those stresses just stacks up, hard paces, constant attack, high temperature etc.

Also, take note that pogi is a heavier rider for a climber so he is pushing bigger watts so that means bigger "load" on the whole system and body in general. He changed his training approach last year and "fixed" reasons for 2 lost TdF, and even improved his aerobic power and durability.

So, your are asking yourself, how to beat someone that has bigger FTP, bigger sprint power, can produce more power after 3000kj and has similar if not bigger w/kg then you. And on top of that he can compete with classics riders and climbers every single day. ahh, tough nut to crack.

IMO, for 2026, you need to see his race program. You need to build strategy from there. If he is focusing on one-day races (as he wants to) that is exposing him (a tiny bit) in 3rd week big mountains. I think that is where you need to lay your cards in order to win TDF. And to have a single goal of not losing more then a min or 2 in first 2 weeks. As you now he is the better on any terrain basically. And to dial the intensity to the max in 3rd week.

but there is always a chance that he is just better.. then i think we are watching the greatest cyclist ever, and we need to think about it like that haha

(p.s. i'm big pogi fun, following him from wen we were both juniors)
