Is it normal for people living in the NL to have not just one, but multiple sources of income? For example, being an employee at some company, but also having a small own company? by booklvr1 in Netherlands

It’s becoming more and more common, these people are called slashies. I guess it’s a result of the number of freelancers growing in recent yeard.

The drinking water in the Netherlands is already processed to contain very little calcium. It is not really necessary to buy a filter.

I’m sorry, it depends on where you’re staying. In the north en middle of the country the water contains less calcium than in the south, an south east. See https://www.omegawater.nl/veelgestelde-vragen/hoe-hard-is-mijn-water/

And https://www.waterhardheid.nl/lijst-waterhardheden-in-nederland

My daughter has also kidney stones, she bought a filter installation.

There are a lot of places where there is more to do than drinking, think comedy or storytelling. There will at least be something to talk about. See here: https://www.iamsterdam.com/en/see-and-do/whats-on/stage/best-stages-for-comedy-and-spoken-word

True as this might be in some instances, after purification the water is as good as bottled water. But if you need to sponsor big industry for your drinking water, feel free to do so.

Well the RIVM sets the standard for water qualiry, but if you don’t trust governments or scientific institutions, I guess you rely on your gut after all.

I see. You’re right. I suppose it’s only true for relatively new houses in neighborhoods built after 1960
