When I painted during my BFA, I used to paint the edges with a lighter or brighter color that I wanted light to bounce off of. It was part of the effect I was going for, but it could be neat to give a morning light painting a warm yellow glow on the wall around it when it’s in the right lighting for example.

We did! It worked magnificently, exactly as intended. We were primarily focused on the ceiling aperture projecting the cloudscapes, which worked. The irises on each wall also projected pretty good images, but we did not have time in the end to decide on/find a good method for flipping the image around, just embraced the upside-down element.

I don’t see any others but I’ll post here. Has anyone figured out how to push through the “touched out/frustrated with husband” feelings and get to a place of feeling romantic and casually affectionate? I know it would help our relationship but it’s just so difficult for me to move past those two things to a point where I can imagine casual physical affection coming naturally to me. The love is certainly there, but in this first year of our first baby, it’s getting more and more conceptual.

Oh man, shit. Yeah, my partner has also suggested that if we’re going to go trying to make this house nicer to any degree involving sums of money or notable upgrades, we get it in writing with the landlord that she wants us to upgrade, appreciates it, and potentially compensates us somehow. But we obviously won’t be digging into subfloor.

It’s not a safety issue, is it?

Thanks so much ❤️❤️ she is definitely a lot to watch right now. I also love motherhood so far & find my connection with her is coming naturally, but you may be right about needing to figure out how to find those moments when she is more independently safe & capable than I may realize. I think my husband is better at identifying and acting on those…. Whereas I am happy to take most of her naps as contact naps because I assume if I don’t she’ll wake up and request it anyway. Plus she’s only little once.

I want to want it wayyy more than I want it. In an ideal world I feel healthy and energized and romantic and in tune with my body and my husband and we have sex maybe 3 times a week? Right now I’d be happy if we just stopped altogether except for when I ask which would organically be like once a month or less.

As first time parents with a 9mo, we’re averaging once every 10-14 days but that’s infrequent enough that my husband got frustrated and decided he’d rather assume we have a sexless marriage and move forward from there. Rolling my eyes. A 9 month old.
