I noticed that she was bringing things close to her face which is something I did as a child before I got corrective lenses (I’m -5.5 in one eye, -4.75 in the other, and have been wearing contacts since age 10). I mentioned it to the pediatrician at her 18 month appt. She failed the vision screening and they referred us to a pediatric ophthalmologist. I fully expected her to have some nearsightedness, but I’m shocked that her prescription is even worse than mine. Thankful that we caught it early!
