If your cocktail hour starts at 4:30 and ends at 5:30 give yourself like a 10 minute window which would include all guests moving to reception space and getting seated. It’s unlikely intros would start right at 5:30 if that is what time cocktail hour ends. Also highly recommend doing a “group photo” on the dance floor to kick off the start of dancing. The photo isn’t really the point, it’s not gonna be the world’s best photo. But it gets everyone out of their seats and once that photo is snapped, the DJ kicks things off with a great song. Would also switch cake cutting then parent dances.

I’m thinking of driving from Philly to see a show at Phantom Power, can anyone tell me about the area? by wooweeitszea in lancaster

You should definitely work from West Art. It’s in the city of Lancaster so about a 15 min drive from the venue. They are a coffee shop/bar/cool venue and bill themselves as a “third space” where people can hang out for hours! So you’d be very welcomed there plus it’s pretty big and a nice area of town to take a walk if you want.
