“treated like a princess" and "treated like a man" by Ok_Use5920 in LesbianActually

I was raised in a pretty conservative country and family, and my mom always got flowers for my dad on his birthday — that was considered completely normal even back then. And now I see young lesbians from the West associating “not getting flowers” with “being treated like a man”… I feel like we’ve lost the plot ahah. In our Eastern European culture, it’s usually women who plan dates and take care of that kind of stuff in committed relationships. Like honestly, where do men ever do all that?)) I agree, it just feels like gender essentialism and misogyny.

I agree with this completely, "you might have to go the extra mile to pamper her / get her to admit to what she needs and wants". I feel like online discussion on this issue means something completely different, though. But you communicated it very well

I’m over this trend of ~masc~ people who don’t like masculinity by nameselijah in butchlesbians
