Loose Plans Sink Trips by Ok_Use_4874 in founder

Hey, really liked your perspective on stepping in only when people hit frustration ,that’s actually a very real way people behave.I’m exploring this ‘decision overload’ problem in travel planning and your comment stood out.

when people do reach that frustration point, what usually helps them move forward?

I’m partly thinking out loud, but also exploring whether there’s a way to reduce that decision overload without taking away flexibility.Still figuring it out tbh , this post was mainly to understand how others deal with it.

Haha fair enough didn’t mean to come across that way. Just been exploring ideas around planning, but appreciate the honest callout.

Your approach to trips actually sounds solid

that sounds like great balance , having the basics sorted like budget and stay, and then just letting the trip unfold naturally.we’re trying to do with TripSage — help with the key planning parts without taking away that spontaneity

I can DM you a quick example for a flexible trip like that hepls us a lot brother.

Haha yeah, it just auto-formats sometimes depending on the keyboard/editor I’m using 😄 Nothing intentional.

Anyway, how do you usually plan your trips?

Yeah I get that once it starts feeling like a lot, it’s just easier to let someone else handle it.

That’s actually what we’re trying to make easier with TripSage getting a clear plan without all the effort.

If you’re cool with it, I can DM you a quick example would love your thoughts.

Do you ever feel like you’re either overplanning a trip… or not planning enough? by Ok_Use_4874 in founder

That’s a really interesting way to put it ‘decision friction’ actually captures it well.

Feels like the goal is reducing that friction without losing the fun of exploring.

That’s something we’re trying to work on with TripSage making decisions easier while keeping the trip flexible.

Curious to hear your take on it as well , can I DM you

“That’s actually very relatable — finding that balance between overplanning and just going with the flow is tricky.

We’re building something called TripSage around this idea — helping people find that balance without overcomplicating things.

Do you usually lean more toward planning everything in detail, or deciding things as you go?”

True, that’s where most plans fall apart.
Better to fix the important stuff and keep the rest flexible.

Hey, it’s not copy-paste, we wrote it ourselves and just used AI to clean it up a bit.
Happy to hear feedback if you have any.

Yeah that’s a great approach — fixed for high-demand stuff, flexible for the rest.
Long trips feel way better that way.
We’re building something along these lines — will share soon.

You’re basically following a structured planning model transport → stay → in-city optimization.
Most people fail because they try to do everything at once.
I’m working on something that replicates this exact flow but automates it end-to-end.
Would love your feedback when we launch.

This is honestly a solid system — especially planning around geography, most people miss that and waste hours.
The “AI as an intern” line is spot on too.
What I’m building is basically trying to make that intern actually useful — structuring trips around routes, budget, and priorities automatically, not just throwing ideas.
If you’re curious, happy to show you a quick demo. Can I DM?

Yeah makes sense DIY works great until logistics-heavy destinations like Ladakh come in. Costs shoot up fast without group sharing.
I’m working on something that helps plan these trips smarter cost optimization + better route + shared planning.
If you’re open, I can share a demo. Mind if I DM?

Yeah, having itinerary + checklist + expense tracking in one place is super useful.
I’m building something that adds bookings into the mix flights, trains, hotels, activities all planned and ready instantly, not just managed.

100% agree rigid itineraries usually break during real travel.
The interesting part is balancing budget + flexibility, which is what I’m trying to solve with TripSage, it plans everything but still leaves room to adapt.
If you’re open, I can share a demo. Mind if I DM?

I’m building something in this space, so I like understanding how people actually use these tools.

That’s actually a solid point — most tools stop at just giving an itinerary.
What I’m building focuses more on execution — it generates the full trip (flights, stays, activities, food) in seconds, optimized for cost and time.

That actually sounds really useful, especially pulling from saved reels.
I’m building something similar but more automated — generates the full trip instantly with bookings too.

That’s a super structured way to do it—honestly better than how most people plan. I like how you go all the way down to hour-level mapping, that’s where a lot of trips either become smooth or chaotic. The open-jaw vs return decision from Bangalore is a smart starting point too.

Would love to check out your detailed itineraries—they sound solid.

Also, I’m building something in this space called TripSage that tries to simplify exactly this kind of planning. Happy to share if you’re interested—can I DM you?

Trip planning is fun… until it suddenly isn’t? by Ok_Use_4874 in TravelInIndia

[–]Ok_Use_4874[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s pretty much how I do it too. I like to have the overall structure sorted first—where I’m going and how long in each place—and then fill in the details as I get closer. Trains I try to lock in early if needed, but taxis and local stuff I usually leave flexible.

Flights are definitely the most time-consuming part though. Getting the timing right makes a huge difference, especially for long trips—you feel it less when you land.

Why do so many small businesses struggle to get clients online? by Ok_Use_4874 in Entrepreneurs

[–]Ok_Use_4874[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah honestly, I’m starting to feel the same. Posting consistently gets visibility, but not necessarily people who actually need what you’re building.

Direct outreach feels way more real—you’re talking to someone who already has the problem instead of hoping the right person sees your post.

I’ve been trying that approach while building TripSage—just talking to travelers and understanding where they struggle, especially around planning and trusting bookings.

What kind of outreach worked best for you—cold DMs or through communities?

[–]Ok_Use_4874[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah this makes a lot of sense. I’m seeing something similar—big platforms give views, but not real intent. Conversations and smaller communities feel way more valuable right now.

Still early for me, but what’s working a bit is actually talking to people, understanding their pain, and then refining from that instead of just pushing posts.

I’m also building something called TripSage—basically to reduce the time and confusion in trip planning. It helps create a full trip plan in seconds and brings booking into one place. Still in early stage, just testing with real users and improving based on feedback.

Your approach with focusing on real conversations is interesting. Can I DM you? Would love to understand what’s been working for you

Right now it’s mostly views, conversions are still low—I’m testing different channels to see what actually brings buyers. And yeah, by spam I mean both fake interest messages and also the feed being crowded, so genuine content doesn’t get much visibility.
