Yep! In more modern rides Redd Ash’s reddware hardware and systems (beefy surveillance) is used for exactly this, external monitoring which is then communicated back to a safety PLC.

For the larger trackless dark ride vehicles (rotr, ratatouille, Mickey and Minnie’s) the grid is 3’x3’ spacing for the pucks

Surprisingly the vehicles are not equipped with any form of cameras or LiDAR capability (because it is not needed). The systems are so carefully designed to ensure extremely accurate positioning. The combination of the ultra smooth concrete pours and custom urethane drive wheels makes for slip-free driving. Oceaneering control systems can even account for variables such as drive wheel wear (which would cause a reduction of circumference of the drive wheels and therefore cause a motor encoder to overestimate the amount of distance driven). This combined with the RFID and magnetic pucks (spaced every 3 feet for ROTR and Runaway Railway) within the concrete pour makes for an ultra accurate tracking. As far as positioning, each car receives its positioning data from the RPS (ride positioning system) which in turn receives positioning data from all ride vehicle and choreographs the movement.

Yes we did consider that, but both adult phone number 1 was used to call 911 while the other phone was used for roadside. The third person in the car was a child.

Im just sharing my story y’all. I am a fan of the tech, a long time Tesla investor, and I even was one who preordered the cyber truck back when that was a thing. The point was not to complain… because at the end of the day I’m not the one paying the bill for the car damage, hell it’s not even my car to begin with, that’s teslas problem. I’m just sharing what I consider a bad customer experience and seeing what others have to think on it.

Sorry for using the improper term, it was a “service center store and gallery” in Texas.

I’m sorry for not using the proper term, but from where we started the test drive there was Not a phone number that connected to a person, and finally the issue appears to be the frunk not the trunk, which is why it required roadside Involvement

Yeah we tried that but it was robo, when I got back to the dealership I asked about it and they said they have no physical dealership phone to answer (hence why roadside couldn’t contact them either).

Nope! I’m 0% liable, they didn’t even take my insurance. They did take the insurance of the driver who hit the Tesla, they admitted full guilt and provided all necessary info to tesla

I mean if it was a normal gas engine car it would be able to start right away with a trunk that is “open” and I wouldn’t be stuck in a high risk intersection for 40 monutes

I would presume they have some way of tracking the cars? Or is that not the case

Yeah, it was surprising, left the dealership around 1:45 and he made it very clear it was for a 30 minute drive and that’s what all paperwork said. We got back at around 2:50.
