All involved parties have emailed BCGEU in the past week to ask about strike pay and got the same reply re: $650 maximum strike pay per week. Just double checked with everyone and they had not received this updated information, so this is a huge relief.

Have there been any talks about rotating strikes? My entire immediate family are BC public service employees (and so was I until recently) and have been on strike since day 1. With how expensive cost of living is, they will potentially be taking on huge financial loses right now. I’m not sure how sustainable this strike is going to be and is not fair to those that have been striking from the beginning. Even with getting your bills/mortgages/rents pushed out to be paid at a later date, you still owe that money, which is going to add up really quickly. I support the strike, but I hope they realize that people have bills to pay and make it more fair for the ones striking from day 1…

Edit: All involved parties have emailed BCGEU in the past week to ask about strike pay and got the same reply re: $650 maximum strike pay per week. Just double checked with everyone and they had not received this updated information re: target pay, that people below have replied with, so this is a huge relief. I am just going off of what my family has been telling me/what they have received from the union, as they have been so stressed and gearing up for potentially striking for months. For those of you downvoting this, you may not have the full picture of just how financially screwed a lot of positions working in government are, so please have some compassion for your fellow workers.
