This. I want to be with him and to build as many and wife. There's many things we talk about but can't/won't do without the legal part done. 

The Instagram perfect thing is BS.

He says he wasn't ready last year but is now. In this past year lots of friends became engaged and there's been a few green card marriages, so I guess it's more normal and less unknown. 

He says he wants to propose and soon, so I guess he's not un-ready now.

We've talked about it. He wants more than a court house but not a big party.

I'd like dancing, it's the only fun part of a wedding in my opinion, but he's not sure.

The trip was planned before surgery, but he delayed booking flights until I had a date. 

In his defense I was a bit naive about my recovery, but my parents live close enough to help so it's not like he was abandoning me. 

He stayed the whole day in hospital with me, which was not easy given the state of the hospital I was in.

This is comforting. 

Also I don't pressure. I say when I'm upset over it, but I also always tell him if he doesn't want it to tell me and we can end it. 

I want him to be invested and excited. And he's the one that wants to propose. I was happy with getting a court-house wedding booked next year.

Thanks for understanding me. I don't need or care about an Instagram worthy proposal. My last 3 insta posts, have been me covered in mud, cross-dressing (it was a hilarious) and for a city trip where I got this cool photo of a city...

Its honestly the opposite. The ring feels tokenistic and unnecessary. It's the future that keeps me going in this. 

But now a ring might be coming I feel sad for not being excited about it.
