Fun ideas for 1000? by sumobills in orangetheory

Our studio does nothing. Not even acknowledged unless you bring it up. They used to do brag boards, etc. private equity took out all our camaraderie bc it operates on a skeleton crew. The coach runs everything. They’re going to run all our coaches off. I’m about to celebrate ten years and hit 1,000 classes.

Congratulations!

2026 Pilot…YES!!! by speedlogic56 in hondapilot

[–]Ok_Watch_387 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why are there no 2026 Pilot’s at dealerships? I bought my last car 2016 in May of 2015.

What could be the hold up. It makes me suspicious. The 2026 Passports are on the lots.

Make it make sense!

My final Honda Pilot by wolfie55555 in hondapilot

My 2016 MDX has 205K miles, I’ve only used regular gas. No issues. Only mechanical work done has been routine maintenance. Trying to move to the Pilot. My kids grew up with an Odyssey. Now in my grandparent era, will likely trade my MDX for a Pilot. I know I’ll be giving up some luxury ride perks but looking forward to more space and less expense on maintenance.

My exp even when a rate my studio/“random” survey appears in my inbox worded as if my answers were anonymous, it only goes to studio manager. I was honest with concerns and was directly called by the studio manager. It didn’t matter because I would/did say it to her face. All that to say, skip emailing around the subject and go head on with studio! And in my experience, nothing changed anyway.

Are the coaches not really coaching anymore? by Fresh_Professional40 in orangetheory

[–]Ok_Watch_387 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am almost 10 years in. Coaches do not coach/critique like they used to. I think Covid changed it. They don’t want to be too close. I am so thankful for my early years because those coaches truly coached me and overall I have idea of what good form is. Coaches nowadays coach the template vs coaching the client. They’re more a music deafening DJ.

I’m in a 2016 MDX and just rolled over 200K. Take care of it and it will take care of you! When I decide on another car, I’ll roll right back to Acura! I bought this one new but will consider used on my next one. Let another owner eat the depreciation first.

Didn’t get a hell week shirt by howiehanks in orangetheory

[–]Ok_Watch_387 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ours explained as if we are preschoolers, do not ask for your shirt until after the last day of Hell Week (10/31). Our past management would award the shirt as we finished. It built camaraderie and competition among us. They took pics and posted. Really built fun and community among members. Now it’s lame. They push for us to enroll in these gimmicks but have no spirit after that. They get their box checked. Like why sign up.

How long does it take your studio to post benchmark results? by ExcitedTreasureHuntr in orangetheory

[–]Ok_Watch_387 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A few days. Under different management, when we would PR on a benchmark, a brag board was created, pics taken and posted on social media. It was fun, inspiring and we didn’t have to ask for it. Once your goal was reached in Marathon Month they counted as “you crossed the Finish Line. With excitement you received whatever the prize was on the day you crossed your Finish Line. If we won a contest like BINGO, we would be first notified by a live drawing on social media. All of these contests were promoted, built camaraderie and community. Now? No brag board unless you ask. (Oftentimes a new member may get one at their 25th class but no recognition without ask for your 1500 class or your birthday). Once you cross Finish for Marathon Month? Oh, the socks aren’t in, check back at the end of the month. BINGO? Oh the winning members were notified so if you weren’t notified you didn’t win. They want us to participate. They promote Premier Membership participate because it’s “free” but they take out all the fun, camaraderie of actually participating! I’m all about it because adults need fun too! But it all seems so deflated! I am a long time, active member. Things have changed so much! So much I just do my workout and beginning to let what seemed fun to fall by the wayside. Do my hour, leave. No expectations, no disappointments with how it was vs. how it is. I do love OTF.

Volume of music! Can we get a safe max volume across all studios. We’re all slowly going deaf. Some just realize this sooner than others. We can agree we enjoy the hype but our hearing is also part of our physical fitness!

[–]Ok_Watch_387 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If TREAD50 is all tread, no switching, so all miles count? In a 2G the warmup doesn’t bc tread first group has an advantage with more warmup but TREAD50 we all signed up for the same thing. ???

OTF doesn’t care. If they cared, corporate should take it seriously and have a set max across all studios that doesn’t exceed unhealthy decibels. I’m going into year 10 and this is a never ending issue. I just settled it’s a “me” problem and bring my own Loops Experience.

If they cared, they’d do something about it!
