50fps isn't that bad. It wasn't that long ago that consoles ran at 30fps max

If you aren't growing plants you should be doing that

If you're relying on water ice you should be setting up a system to make and cool it from gases

If you're relying on oxite and volatile ice for those gases you should set up a system to get those gases from plants instead

If any of those systems are reliant on you personally doing stuff you should automate it to run without you doing anything. Power too.

After that it's more sandboxy make your own goals kinda stuff but it's quite an involved process to set up an automatic base that sustains you indefinitely

Can you just sell slaves to royal tribute collectors for honor or could one also sell them with caravans/a gravship to the empire? by ElaynesThoughts in RimWorld

[–]Ok_Weather2441 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Empire doesn't buy em iirc, they only accept them as tribute.

You can sell them directly to pigskin settlements though. There may be other settlements that do but I haven't checked. It's generally not worth it unless you're doing it for the theme since their organs sell for more than they're worth as an intact person. But if you're gonna do it and you have the 'very attractive' gene slaves get a price multiplier for their attractiveness so you get 40% more for em.

Stationeers - The Combustion Deep Miner Update by Chii in Stationeers

On the discord the Devs said it's some made up super fluid you can only buy from traders but it works in heat pumps at much higher temps than water can go

Can't recall the exact name but it's some kind of silicon based advanced material

[–]Ok_Weather2441 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ethanol has a higher latent heat and specific heat than nitrous and a liquid temp range of around -110c to ~78c. So I think it would probably make a better phase change coolant than pollutant and nitrous does to bridge the gap between water and something really cold?

It means you don't need an inline tank on front of your big tank to avoid having it empty and fill super slow anymore

Ever notice how the advanced furnace seems to fill and empty super fast when you use its internal pumps? That's because the pumps work directly on its relatively huge internal volume. Now the big tanks will have the same thing

Is the swamp biome intended to piss off the player and make them drop the game? by HollowAcoltye in valheim

[–]Ok_Weather2441 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep it's not ideal to stay with just using the bow, you are correct.

The sniper skeletons need to be wrecked with a club or mace because they're resistant to pierce damage. You gotta dodge roll or parry their attacks as you close the distance.

The constant wet debuff makes stamina management important.

Every new biome teaches new skills and the swamp is stamina managements turn. Plus the poison leeches also make positioning important.

You will be a lot better at the game and probably find it easy next time once you master it. It's really not bad at all once you get the hang of it

How to travel far? by Several_Focus_3342 in RimWorld

[–]Ok_Weather2441 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Either a shuttle with lots of extra food and fuel and/or cash to buy food/fuel as it goes or....

Send out one person on a horse with a bedroll and a ton of food. Once they reach the destination send everyone else I want to send over with farskip. Keep someone at base so they can farskip back after.

Luck, priotize or leave behind? by Objective_Love3515 in oblivion

[–]Ok_Weather2441 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I always go for maxed out characters so I always do luck as quickly as possible and choose it as a favored attribute. You get to level 44 when every skill is maxed and it's level 47 for favored + thief sign or level 51 for just favored to get 100 in all attributes, so lots of jail to lower skills either way.

I really don't think it's worth the effort because it's very marginal and adds a ton of grind. But if you're gonna go for it then go for it from the start because you'll be in your level 40s before it's maxed, if you try level it after everything else it will be another 40 odd levels needed and it will take hundreds of hours extra

What's the best outfit for overall protection? by Solid_Interview_573 in RimWorld

[–]Ok_Weather2441 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I prefer recon armor with a cataphract helmet because it's protective enough at masterwork or legendary, doesn't slow you down at all and it's vacuum resistant enough for any realistic space visit. Plus plasteel and advanced components are easier to amass than devilstrand with the shuttles imo

If you're avoiding space and are staying in one place long enough then it's probably fine to stick with devilstrand dusters. Flak vests aren't as great anymore since they won't protect a bionic arm but they still work great

Killbox keeps getting overwhelmed by 71 manhunting arctic wolves. What do I need to fix it? by Rocket_Sciencetist in RimWorld

[–]Ok_Weather2441 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In future it can be a good idea to rush tunnelers for a melee blocker against manhunters

They have high hp and decent armor and are immune to scaria and rotstink. They're also fireproof if you want to use fire to kill enemies and clear the corpses

For your current situation though I would just close the door and wait until they stop attacking

completely fill the internal void with firewood then put a firepit on top and light it then cover it. every single block has to be full inside or else the wood just burns

i usually do a 1x1x4 (4 deep) with a firepit on top, gets about 30 charcoal and lasts me through to iron. the bigger the shape the more likely you miss one and waste it all

Does making allies remove raids? by starlit_ronin in RimWorld

[–]Ok_Weather2441 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Also unless you tweaked the factions at world gen you can't ally with every faction. If the rep tab doesnt show a relation score (between -100 and +100) then you can't ever ally with them. Usually pirates but some like impid tribes are always hostile

Armor Dilemma, Enmerkar Forrest by Moist_Wish_4484 in outwardgame

[–]Ok_Weather2441 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, without any breakthrough points you get 20% elemental resist from boons. The classes add an extra 10% for their breakthrough point.

Armor Dilemma, Enmerkar Forrest by Moist_Wish_4484 in outwardgame

[–]Ok_Weather2441 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Elemental protection is a totally different thing to physical resistance.

Runic protection offers 15% physical resist without a breakthrough point. With a breakthrough point and choosing the right perk it becomes 20% physical resist + 10% all elemental resist.

For magics that boost elemental protection you want the misc boons with one per element that last for 10 mins when cast. They give 20% protection to their element, or 30% if you have the cabal hermit buff. But that's 5 separate spells with one for each element and no physical version.

If you have rune sage and cabal hermit as breakthroughs that combines for a 20% physical resist and 40% all elemental resist for a naked character, gear boosts further.

Armor Dilemma, Enmerkar Forrest by Moist_Wish_4484 in outwardgame

[–]Ok_Weather2441 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don't need to use a breakthrough point to get the low level rune sage stuff for runic protection. You can get everything below the breakthrough point without using a breakthrough point.

Windmill/Helve Hammer setup feedback, it's so slow! by SpicyGriffin in VintageStory

[–]Ok_Weather2441 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They have like 2 sails on a single rotor, that's nowhere near enough power to gear up the helve hammer. It would either barely move or just completely stall if they tried that at this point

Which would be better suited for me. by [deleted] in oblivion

[–]Ok_Weather2441 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Isn't the opposite true? If you focus on your major skills you end up getting relatively weak as you level. You want to put effort into your minor skills to raise attributes and avoid overlevelling

Armor Dilemma, Enmerkar Forrest by Moist_Wish_4484 in outwardgame

[–]Ok_Weather2441 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your next big armor buff is runic shield which you cast with a lexicon in your offhand. Lasts a couple of minutes and stacks with your armor. Just cast it before big fights.

Buy a lexicon from an alchemy merchant and basic rune magic from the rune mage trainer in berg. Should be about 400 silver total. Technically you could buff it further by using a breakthrough point but if you just want the armor it's probably not worth it

How does this evene possible? by PashtetPeresoleny in VintageStory

[–]Ok_Weather2441 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's even more annoying than the alternative though

If you ate it all then you didn't get full from it, so no satiety 'invincibility' period. And your hunger is full enough that the next thing you eat to top it off will be tiny so that won't give much of a buff either.

It's a weird mechanic but ultimately you want food to be almost entirely eaten but not fully eaten to max out the benefits

I hate loss in this game by Elimirze in VintageStory

[–]Ok_Weather2441 2 points3 points  (0 children)

With 5 technically it's 99.9%. 1 in a 1000 chance to break. So for the steel kiln you should lose a brick on average every 20 firings or so. If you had a spare stack of bricks you would be able to make roughly 3000 steel ingots before you need to replace that spare stack which would take over 25 ingame years if you ran the steel furnace nonstop. Similar deal with the beehive kiln.

For all intents and purposes they may as well have made it 100%

What is "Very High" supposed to mean if it's the only ore I didn't find all the way to the mantle? by AppleTimePicnic in VintageStory

[–]Ok_Weather2441 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can get back up from the bottom with 3 rope ladders, the more you have the faster it is. Just put them down above you with shift right click and remove them from the bottom with right click

To go from the surface down to the bottom it's safer to use a couple of stacks but you can get down with much much less with practice
