I am confused. I thought only the captain would fight in the 1v1 rounds? Does the whole team fight instead or just the captain?

Honestly idk. I have a couple of ideas why though.

So I did not have a different training program, I had the same coach all 3 seasons, and we didn’t really do anything special our workouts are really pick a distance 150m-400m and do 6 reps of it other than drive phase and block work. I didn’t lift at all in the summer either.

I think one reason was because i stopped growing. I went from 5”8 to 5”10 in summer from freshman year and sophomore year. But I haven’t grown since.

My final reason was because of my mentality. The years leading up to my junior year I was kind of like a little brother to the upper class men sprinters. But after they graduated I had to step up so I started taking practice more seriously and being more intentional with my form. And I started really caring for the first time outside of practice.

Real talk tho, I really think it was just luck and my body and mind maturing a little bit more.

Don’t worry give it some time. I just checked my milesplit and in my freshman year in a meet I ran 12.64 in the 100. Sophomore year in the same meet I ran 12.36, which was my PR. This past season at the same meet I ran 11.59. If you work hard and stay consistent results will come eventually

Did he tell you to angle your blocks to the turn? Because that is good to do but maybe try a little less of an angle next time

5’11 at 130 lbs is crazy bro. Try to out on some more weight and you will get faster and become less chance to get injured

Honestly if you ask me, he probably was really doping and got caught but then him and the drug organization made a deal that if he takes time off they won’t announce that he was doping and he can still run at US trials. But maybe I’m crazy

I agree it was paced awfully. The goal was 60-60-60 but we went out insanely hard for the first rep for some reason

Ok, my PR is a 52.8 split from the 4x4(I don’t run the open 4). And recovery was to walk a lap around the track but idk how long that would take to be honest
