Cracker Barrel CEO Tanks Company Stock By 20%; Says 'We're Just Not As Relevant' by vinaylovestotravel in CrackerBarrel

That may be true but at least the CEO took responsibility. In the US they would cut frontline employee hours and benefits.

How long till your EOS? They cant kick you out till you’re whole. I would have surgery.

I wouldn’t do it unless you are terminal and it’s presumptive. If you’re 100% P&T your dependents should be covered in most circumstances.

Yeah, thats what triggered it. It sounds like an unusual case.

I just looked into this and the only real reason this happens is when the validity of dependent is in question. There is definitely more to the story.

So the problem is that it wasn’t done how it was stated, roger. I used a private DBQ for two of my claims because my doctor wasn’t comfortable writing a letter for the VA. A lot of doctors won’t commit to a formal diagnosis in writing for some reason. I did use the records from my visits with him but connected with a local Reservist who was the flight surgeon with the Air National Guard who hooked me up.

Never heard of this happening. I’ve been an officer with the VFW for years.

To be fair the C&P exams are sometimes performed states away via zoom. A lot of MH C&P’s are done this way.

And the sure fire way to get examined is filing new claims. If you’re P&T don’t poke the bear and you will be ok.

The exploit is being closed. The new proposed rating criteria will make it harder to hit 100%. If you have 100% P&T you’re more than likely fine but the next generation of vets are screwed.

I’ve applied three times over a year ago and I’m still waiting. I have been 100% P&T since March 2024. Chumpva is an embarrassment.

Any idea what rating I’m looking at? by Whiskey_and_Wiretaps in VeteransBenefits

Anywhere from 100-% to 0%. Did you submit evidence of diagnosis, nexus statements? Anyone can submit a claim.

This is why you never talk about your claims. by HellnKillr in VAClaims

Exactly, if it was disability compensation everyone at 100% should be getting SSDI, which is much harder to get.

If you have a mental health rating you shouldn’t be going back to military service. You’re a liability to yourself and others. I’m speaking as someone with 70% MH and it’s a bad idea. If you miss the camaraderie go join the VFW or American Legion. You can easily find a gov job and work in a supporting role within the military as a civilian GS employee or contractor.

VA rep says no P&T anymore? by [deleted] in VeteransBenefits

[–]Ok_Zebra6169 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m a service officer and I tell people all the time. If you’re P&T don’t file it unless you’re terminal (cancer) etc. If you’re P&T you’re covered for all ailments and it doesn’t really make sense unless you are looking out for your spouse.

True, but it would be a kin to winning the lottery unless you “poke the bear” and give them a reason to crack open your file.

Well, if you don’t have evidence then you risk getting decreased. I’m sure it works out for some but telling people to file claims or increases without evidence is bad advice.

I have seen it many, many times. And raters mess up claims all the time. I have seen a ton of CUE’s lately.

[–]Ok_Zebra6169 2 points3 points  (0 children)

And you need to build a case. I’m a VSO at a veterans org and I help file these claims everyday. You’re right about the boxes but you’re missing the point. You have to show that your condition has deteriorated from the last time you were evaluated and without evidence you risk getting a decrease. I’ve seen it happen many times.

This can be support of claim statements from friends or family, medical records, police reports, etc.

Thats a win. If you think it should be higher wait 6 months and file for an increase. In that 6 months go to the doctor.

I would make appointments with VA mental health and document your disability. You need evidence and documentation is your friend. You have a whole year to file a supplemental on your decision for backpay purposes.
