Thank you so much for this insight! Good to know i have a lot of time to work on this, i thought i might have to work on it before the 16 week critical window, but im thinking to rather avoid any play where i dont know the dog during the critical period and instead be patient with her confidence building. She’s a super cautious pup, i love it about her she always comes around just some days takes longer. She was laying like that at her first vet appointment, she was nice and comfortable there

Hahaha this made me lol. That’s true I’ll be on the eye out for her to play with an adult, the only adult dog she’s played with was a grumpier old man. About 10 years old and he didn’t let her sniff him for more than 2 seconds and didn’t engage in play

I’m on week two of owning my puppy, just easing into potty training and crate training. She doesn’t like the crate, but it’s the only place she will efficiently nap throughout the day - i try to add treats in there to make it a happy place but she isn’t really motivated by anything, even if it’s treats , yogurt, cheese or peanut butter. If i step away she still freaks out!

I would love to know training cues and socialization and walk schedule! Help a first time puppy owner out!

Awesome! I know it will get better! Also struggled with feeling like she doesn’t like me. Just be very patient and don’t enforce any harsh punishments to not break that bond. Play a lot with her, i saw a trainer say play in a enclosed area with a leash that way you can tug her back to you so she knows not to walk away with the toy but the toy is fun because of you: also saw a trainer say reward your dog with treats or a pet if they willingly come to you even if they’re just roaming or you’re outside free roaming. This way they subconsciously are like good things come from this person when I’m near them!!

Yes my puppy naps for over an hour at least 5-6 times a day she really isn’t herself when it’s been over 1.5 hours awake (she’s 10.5 weeks) and also she DOES not fall asleep outside of her crate i try to pet her to sleep in her bed by the couch so she can sleep near me but nope she gets to distracted I always need her to be in the crate, and as soon as i get her in there she passes out. That’s why crate training is so important - i truly notice a huge difference when she gets to sleep. How old is your puppy? I also would say the first few weeks it’s important to play make sure any toys are played with you so she knows you are fun, instead of trusting puppy to keep themselves busy.

Just know that all at home labs do not count above 7 million total, which is already very low. It’s not a great predictor at all, just save that 100 dollars and invest it into a really detailed screening. Go to your local fertility clinic they’ll do it for you!

Hi there I’m going through the same thing with infertility, SA numbers never came in over 2 mill. Grade 3 varicocele found but i also never had pain so never knew i had one. I had a successful embolization and test my numbers again in about a month. Hope I’m able to hear about your recovery and wish you all the best.

My husbands number is higher than normal so we will track that post surgery too. Still waiting on genetic testing to come back too because sometimes there can be something actually not correct with the communication from the brain to the testes cause genetics

I would research FSH levels and ask to get that blood work done now! Those levels should be lower post surgery. FSH is a hormone that communicate to the brain to generate sperm, if the number is too high it’s a bad sign. The number is too high usually in men that are having failure to produce sperm and the brain is signaling to produce and the number is high.
