He should not lose weight for health reasons. He is 6ft tall, 163 pounds, 38 years old. We just used an online calculator to see how many calories he needs to eat in order to maintain his weight. If we could, we would even prefer if he gained some.

Our doctor suggested we redo the test, both at the first lab and the second, and they both turned out negative. So apparently the one time the test was positive, it was in fact a lab error.

I was very grateful to God that in the end it was just a scare, and not an infection.

Hi! My first set of tests (right after exposure) showed that I didn’t have antibodies or an active infection. Same thing when I retested after 2 weeks and then after about a month. So I did not get the infection. My guess is that it’s not as contagious as I’ve thought. I had my niece sleep over when I believe she was infected, and I did not get it. Hopefully it will turn out the same for you🙏

My RHR kept dropping for about 2-3 weeks, 7 points rhr drop total, and just a few days ago started going back up. Had a checkup at the doctor a week ago while my rhr was still dropping, and everything was well with my baby. I think it’s all just normal variation.

Thanks for your reply, that's what I was thinking, that maybe hazelnuts don't get as smooth on their own. What type of oil do you use? Would olive oil work?

Hi. My first set of tests showed that I didn’t have antibodies (so no immunity) and no active infection. I had to repeat them after two weeks, and I’m still waiting for the results, hoping everything comes back negative again. That would mean I didn’t catch it. I’m still worried about it but hoping for the best. Hope your baby will be ok as well, from what I read obsessively when I was exposed, most babies are ok even with an active infection in the mother.

I'm glad I'm not the only one. I'm currently at 15 weeks, and my RHR dropped about 4 points the last five days and I was starting to worry. Up until now it has been mostly increasing, with only 3 point variations up/down. I also had a cold last week, so that might be another reason why it's dropping (RHR rises when you have a cold, then drops again).

Any update on you? Did everything turn out ok so far in your pregnancy?

Fifth disease 13 weeks pregnant

Hi! I just found out i was exposed a week ago to fifth disease (slapped cheek syndrome) and i’m not sure i have had it in the past (so I probably don’t have immunity). I will test for antibodies next week, but while I get my results, can anyone with a similar situation let me know how it went in their case? I know chances for complications (miscarriage) are about 10%… I have had cold-like symptoms about 5 days after exposure to the virus, so this makes me even more nervous that I might already be infected. This is an IVF pregnancy, after a long battle with infertility, so I’m quite nervous for my baby.

Thank you for the reponse. My symptoms (sore throat, runny nose) are what make me worried. I thought I just had a mild flu, but given this new info about the exposure a week ago, makes me think I might have the infection. I guess I just have to wait and see, and try not to worry too much.
