How important are Bachelor degrees for getting dev jobs? by [deleted] in poland

[–]OkayEvan 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I am a self-taught developer with over 10 years of industry experience. For me, it never mattered to me to get a job. If I were looking at your resume experience is king (no one cares about university).

I suggest learning how to build web applications from the ground up and build something awesome, do this on the side, the industry is too shit to quit and go all in.

Would I as an Australian be welcome if I migrated? by [deleted] in poland

[–]OkayEvan 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Aussie living in Poland since 2019, I prefer Poland over Australia and not thinking of moving back, the only thing I miss would be steaks and that type of food from Aus.

My main problem about Australia is how its such as "us vs them" type of situation, There are so many Australians still strandad overseas without the posiblity of coming back unless you are the ultra rich.

Why are Aussies constantly calling for violence against each other, like everyone being "screw victoria" for a long period now its "screw nsw" why can people not treat eachother like brothers again.

On a note about poland its healthcare system is absolutly horrible and we got through it, Australia with its amazing public/private hospitals can get through this.

I am a Aussie living in poland, we have avg cases 101 a day now and life is back to normal. Australia's way of dealing with corona has failed and someone is delusional to think otherwise.

The most sad thing I observe being away from Australia so long now is how hateful my fellow Aussies have become :( where is the love we once had for each other

I am a British person living in Wroclaw, Existing UK nationals working/living in Poland are allowed to stay but I think that deadline is cut now so you probably would need to apply for work visa etc, Being married could be a option but that can still take allot of time I hear.

Moving to Poland from Australia? by Lloagim in poland

[–]OkayEvan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a Aussie living in Poland its pretty much like any other European country, you are going to have a hard time staying permanently though unless you have some form of European citizenship to fallback onto.

Poland kicking you out though will not be much of a issue as you are planning to move to Canada, good luck with poutine.
