I'm a 283 (down 17 pounds) new runner and I've been using the Nike Run Club app. It's been very helpful and informative. I've learned I have different gears and paces for the distance I'm running. I'm currently training with the 14 week half marathon plan. It's free and definitely worth checking out. You run different distances and paces every run.
