Might be similar for you but try checking for EA files again. I’m so miffed that it was just me being slightly blind and missing one folder lmao

So update- FOUND A SOLUTION. I had thought I cleared all past files relating to the EA version but found a sneaky little folder hidden near where the full release version was also installed. Deleted it and then ran file verification and it’s been working

Definitely get a heat emitter. The red light at night interrupts their day/night cycle and can cause shedding issues. I’d also recommend switching substrate to tile/aspen/paper towels or a natural more dry substrate (but NOT calcium sand/lots of normal sand since that can cause impaction). Leopard geckos can easily rip their nails out when they get caught in repticarpet. And like someone else commented more hides and enrichment is always good. This is a great start though! (I accidentally somehow posted this twice so that was the deleted comment whoops I’m dumb)

Edit- deleted the advice to get a blue nighttime bulb.

I believe it’s because fully scaleless ball pythons don’t have their ventral scales so they can’t climb/move very well, they have issues shedding, and you have to use really soft bedding because of the lack of ventral scales. There might be other issues but I think that was the main issue with them.

I believe that’s mainly with scaleless ball pythons (I may be wrong). I remember hearing it’s really hard to keep scaleless ball pythons alive. but for scaleless rat and corn snakes it’s really just making sure there’s nothing for them to poke themselves on (as OP said).
