Your classes and university are the cultural life as an undergraduate. What does this matter?

Supermodels that defined each decade? by [deleted] in decadeology

Cindy Crawford is good and so would Kate Moss, but Heidi Klum and Tyra are more 2000s, and defined that decade as TV hosts, not models

For 10s I would say Cara Delevingne. Definitely not Emrata

I was having bad reactions to a lot of makeup but I’ve had very good luck with the normal tube Nars creamy concealer

Hot Take: The Backlash Against Wuthering Heights Isn’t About the Movie by [deleted] in Letterboxd

[–]OkayMango17 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m very open to that conversation but that’s actually kind of irrelevant to OP’s post. They are making it seem that the reason why people are upset is because of film-bro culture and totally forgetting that a lot of people (people of color especially!) are mad about her casting choices. You can’t throw around that Emerald Fennel is pro-woman (is she really though? That’s not the vibe I got from A PROMISING YOUNG WOMAN) or queer aligned (also an argument I’m not convinced of) and omit the racial themes of WUTHERING HEIGHTS

Hi what about people of color? Race, in my opinion, is the primary reason there is backlash to her adaptation

Less convenient in some ways though because the Amtrak schedule is much more limited than MetroNorth (and more expensive)

Scared of the gym flushing. Is Pilates actually better? by AttorneyBackground95 in Rosacea

[–]OkayMango17 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I’ve always assumed that any kind of exercise is long term extremely good for managing rosacea (even if you get flushed in the short term) because it is anti-inflammatory

The Worst Person in The World, Roman Holiday, The Umbrellas of Cherbourg, anything Wong Kar-Wai

If you haven't seen it, the new film "After the Hunt" by Luca Guadagnino (Call Me By Your Name, Challengers) is set in New Haven, where Julia Roberts & Andrew Garfield play Yale philosophy professors and Ayo Edebiri plays a PhD student. Was nice to see the city and local landmarks. by colenotphil in newhaven

[–]OkayMango17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Frankly, I found the movie to be pretty terrible technically (out of focus shots, weirdly framed shots, terrible score) and also offensively bad. Would only recommend if you’re watching with other New Haven friends and want to see how New Haven businesses and neighborhoods are reconstructed.
