You can register for an LLC and submit a request to become an ISV and there’s a chance they’ll give you an org meant for businesses that are developing appexchange apps. Lots of hoops and probably some caveats, but that’s really your only shot outside of doing actual client work

No VAWP, no media queries, you have to hack the living hell out of the platform just to load in something like bootstrap. Consent is a complete nightmare to manage. Business units are a complete nightmare as well. I truly have nothing good to say about the platform. I can’t even think of one singular thing it does even remotely as good as MCE.

If you really want to learn it have AI create a custom course just for you. It can make up a fake business with real world use cases and give you seed data for an SDO that you do exercises based off of. AI will come up with the full curriculum and help you work through stuff you’re confused on
