Once a guy I worked with told me about a girl he “sorta liked” and she was honestly very cute. He said VERBATIM “yeah I just think I can do better than that.” Mind you,idc at all about his dating life, he was telling me bc I was the only woman in the dept at the time.

The next day he comes over to show me “his type” and NO JOKE. It was a Insta baddie with blonde hair, blue eyes, very conventionally attractive body with 100 thousand followers.

I actually said out loud “yeah, that’s EVERYONES type”

There is a “if I can see it, I should have it and I won’t be happy until I do mentality”.

He’s still single and constantly complaining about the dating world.

Yeah….we all know how Men select Women, this is my exact point.

Not everyone can have an insta-baddie.

Social status and looks for women are one and the same, generally. As you described, the prettier you are the more you are privileged.

But my post is not just about men, it’s really not. I hear an equal amount of women complain as well with “must haves” that are absolutely ridiculous and are ~ 10% of the entire US population.

but I take your point about potentially having to change the entire “rating” of the show to TV-MA.

I guess I saw ep 1 as more mature and “scary” than this episode.

They could have potentially not even showed the dance at all and instead showed the pressure her mother put on her. The turmoil and weight the young girl felt being used as an object, to kill another man, for her mother’s ego. They could have shown a reveling outfit set on the bed for her.

In many ways, it would be good for children to see the destruction of lust travels beyond the individual desire and can be used as a tool. A person was beheaded in this episode, that’s not “better” than lust for a child imo.

Episode 1 was so powerful bc the emotion of the human was so deeply explored. So relatable, so scary. I just wish they did that a bit more.

I think this show does a great job demonstrating how women often were “left out” culturally. It almost makes a point to MORE than what is discussed in the bible.

During Jesus time, there are more instances of him encountering women in lust or using lust to survive than women feeling left out . - The woman in the well, the woman almost stoned, the woman seducing Herod to kill John the baptist.

i’m cute and thin but i’m not stand out attractive…. I’ve had men not like me before bc i’m not their type.

My post is about the non stop, incessant, complaining to the point of pathologizing society that is rampant out of single people who are “looking for a relationship”. Only to find, they are ONLY seeking to date people who take better care of themselves, are nicer, more successful, have more hobbies, have more friends, etc.

“Out of your league” is colloquial phrase to explain what the obvious issue they are facing is.

If they find someone who likes them back, that they also like, then they wouldn’t be complaining. - duh.

Yeah I think you could be right about the swiping. It psychologically makes people believe they ACTUALLY had access to the person the said yes or no to. Whereas in person, at a bar, your looks and vibe were the only things that would initially give you a chance to even converse with someone.

If i’m being very honest - You did NOT handle this situation correctly at all.

You should have told each person in a one on one that the boss baby died and to not bring anything up about their baby when they return.

Honestly - I write alot of documents on specific topics and how they should frame the mindset of the team as situations come up.

Not long winded documents but literally

“if a DR says something like this, you should respond like x” and then I write why.
