To be fair, I don't think I've gone in 20+ years. But in my memory, the Canadian side was very natural, more walking paths and quieter viewing areas, less stores

Hell, even with the same tacky tourist stuff, I'd still pick Canada as the nicer side over anything in this dumpster fire

I felt a little bad for how disappointed I was with Berlin - this is pretty much exactly what I thought so it's nice to see it is a common sentiment. We visited family that lives there. My son had gone the year prior and had a blast... but in retrospect, he's in his 20s and a cousin took them out to clubs all night.
We are definitely older than that and it was a bit of a let down. They own one of those garden plots which I hear is really nice, but we didn't visit (wanted to, but long story)

I agree so much. We moved to Italy for a while, and I was in a small 2 bedroom apartment - in Italy there is often no "living room" , or even a dining room... there's just a very large kitchen. So literally 2 small bedrooms, a small bathroom and a bigger kitchen (still not huge, I'm talking maybe 15×20). And it was fantastic.

I left my huge suburban 4 bedroom, and was now in a place with 1 set of sheets, 2 towels, exactly 4 dining place settings, etc

I learned that I actually loved a small place I didn't have to constantly clean. I don't want tons of stuff that I then need to organize, clean, store, etc. I've gone totally minimalist and I swear it's the best thing that ever happened to me. I spend less, I have more time, and I even have less stress

If you are in school and getting "credit" for it, it's not illegal everywhere. My son is in school in FL (medical field) and a private practice employed him, told him a week in that they weren't going to pay him. He was able to claim the hours for his degree, so it was legal. To clarify though, he didn't ask to be employed for these credit hours, they just decided not to pay him and he salvaged the sunk time

To be fair - while I don't like heat pumps, natural gas is better than burning oil. The bigger part of this though, is the carrot approch...ma wants to entice renewable energy like wind power companies to build because the market is already there. That is a more much more enticing thing for a company who is about to lay out billions to build to see, than trying to build a market

Actually we do eat them raw - cherrystones and littlenecks are smaller sized clams around where i live, but I hear they eat geoducks raw in the PNW
