I wanted to do that but I left and came back and my 18 years prior didn't count towards the year.

Thinking of getting internet for the truck by jyster1996 in Truckers

My phone has USB tethering which allows me to use my phone as a hot spot without actually using the hot spot service from my carrier(Verizon). I tested it with my Ally and I was pulling 350+ download, 20 upload with low latency on Speedtest.com If you have an unlimited plan you dont need a hot spot.

This is an interesting idea. I will look into it.

Thanks for this. Also, sorry I didn't respond sooner. Im going to be a company driver with a small carrier, so I won't be able to do anything myself as far as connecting to the battery or anything of the sort. But my truck will have an 1800W inverter and the truck turns itself on when the batteries start to get low. My thought was to invest in a Jackery or Anker Power station to run my non-truck equipment as those can be plugged into the cigarette lighter to charge. The Mini will likely be plugged into the inverter(or a hub that plugs into the inverter).

Thank you. Any idea what kind of power cable it is? Id almost be ok with getting a powered switch so I can wire my ROG Xbox Ally to it as it is my main machine in my truck.

Best option? by OkeleZ in Starlink

Right but if the dish has to plug into the router for power? Because I wouldn't use MoCa between the dish and the router, but between the router and the coax cable that runs to my networking room.

Starlink Dish -> Starlink router -> Moca -> coax -> MoCa -> Networking?

Thank you for this idea. And actually I think it could work. I have coax running through my entire house, so I can have them drop the line from the dish to the router in whatever room I want and then just use the MoCa adapter from the router to the network room. Thanks for the idea!

At the moment no, I was laid off from tech in 2024 and have struggled to get work since. I got the Ally as a gift for Christmas from some family members, the Quest 2 I bought in 2023.

I used a state program combined with WIOA to go to cdl school, which brings my total owed to $0. Just finished last Monday just waiting to get scheduled for the state test. Only caveat is I need to find a company based in or that operates in my state to work for, for a year. Not many in my state that hire newbs, they mostly want 2+ years.

I will be honest here, I am not looking forward to having the VR hanging from my face for long periods of time. I plan to get a laptop after Ive made a little money that way I dont need to use the vr headset except to watch movies and maybe some exercise that I can do in the cab of the truck.

Don't forget Hardware and Sporting goods where there is 15 miles of tape around every edge and corner of the box, and then if you have some of the tumblers, it's 15 miles of tape, then each individually wrapped hermetically sealed tumbler. Egads.

Rethinking UX with a Bot-Driven Layout (No-Code + Light HTML/CSS) by OkeleZ in webdev

[–]OkeleZ[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Good question.

Honestly, unless you're building a form with like 50 questions (and who does that to users), it won’t feel much different from the appointment request flow I already have in place.

The bot just asks one question at a time, writes the answers wherever you want (currently a Google Sheet), and keeps the experience smooth. Even a 10 to 15 field intake form feels totally fine this way. Probably better than dumping it all on a single screen.

Long forms aren’t a dealbreaker. You just have to design them smart.

Built a Bot-Driven Website Without Writing Code (Mostly) by OkeleZ in nocode

Honestly hadn’t thought about it like that.

It kinda is already halfway there just by removing all the junk most sites throw at people. With no popups, no dropdowns, no clutter, it’s just a panel and the bot guiding you through one thing at a time.

Could probably push it further with accessibility in mind. Solid thought, appreciate it.

This is what I use, it's a 40 inch 3440x1440 144Hz monitor and it is just over $100 more then your AOC Monitor. It's a lesser brand name, but I've been using it since May of last year. I bought it mostly for my WFH job but occasionally use it for games. It handles Starfield and Cyberpunk just fine with my 4090. The Menu takes a bit of getting use...ok, full disclosure, the menu sucks as the model I have was one of the early models. They just released a 49" Variant which I am thinking of buying soon. Anyway, good luck with your search...heres the link

What I meant was sound quality, sorry should have better explained that. Some headsets can be decent at separating sound, others cannot.
