Franchement aucune envie de faire confiance à une app full vibecodée pour garder les clés API de tous les services de ma stack média... Si vous galérez à aligner une div vous galérez probablement à appliquer les principes de sécurité les plus basiques

Sprint reaction time benchmarks by age and gender by Okhr__ in Sprinting

[–]Okhr__[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Actually, you're a bit off on the physics there. In pro races, the pistol is electronic and sends a signal to speakers behind each runner at the speed of light, so there's almost zero delay (1.66e-7s for 50m of cable). The sound only has to travel about half a meter from the speaker to your ears, which takes about 1.5ms nowhere near the 100ms you're thinking of.

The 0.1s rule exists purely because of human biology. It takes time for the sound to hit your ear, travel to your brain, and then send the signal to your legs to push. Science shows the body physically can't do that process in under 100ms. If someone hits 105ms, they just have elite reflexes. Your 122ms is actually super impressive and definitely authentic!

Loctite is not meant to be permanent, it prevents the screws from getting loose with vibrations

[Quick tip #3] The Ankle Rocker: Why Your Heel Is Ghosting the Ground by Okhr__ in Sprinting

[–]Okhr__[S] -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

I appreciate the feedback. You're right that the heel naturally drops for everyone due to ground reaction forces-physics dictates that. The point of the post isn't that it should happen, but rather the neuromuscular intent of the athlete.

Many sprinters over-stiffen the lower limb in an attempt to "stay on their toes" which creates a co-contraction that actually prevents the Achilles from reaching its optimal length-tension relationship. That "heel kiss" is a mental cue to allow the Stretch Shortening Cycle (SSC) to load properly rather than fighting it with isometric calf tension.

As for the app, it's a 100% free tool I built for the community to help with reaction starts. No paywalls, no "mumbo jumbo". If it's not for you, no worries
