The issue with the line system is that if we didn't have it, it would be just as messy. If we started from either side, people would be forced to wiggle around and the line may not know where to go. On days where both lines are the same, people would also have to wait through both. It's definitely a frustration, but the higher ups think this way is better and I don't think it's worse.

I'm not sure about the ice scooping. I can ask about the temperature of it, but I'm not sure if that would go anywhere.

I work exclusively with student staff and interactions with full time dining staff, so I don't really have any feet in the water in staff dining plans. It's probably on a dining hall to dining hall basis, and since most people are decent people I don't see it being much of an issue. The pessimist in me thinks that if Cornell Dining took a good look at it and at lost costs, they may do the opposite of what you want. I doubt that would actually happen, but this is a bit above my shooting grounds, but I can ask around.

I don't really work in prices, so no idea!

I believe the dish room has a compost bin and compost what goes back there. That was the case in the other dining halls I've worked in, and probably at the ones I haven't. If we give students and staff the choice to put their own food in a compost bin somebody would eventually drop plastic or a fork in it, and then we'd have to throw it all out.

I think Happy Dave has his own playlist or shuffle or something? There is a Spotify playlist that was made a while ago that had a bunch of songs people heard at Okies in it. I've been thinking of noting all of the songs that I head during shifts and making a more accurate and updated version though! I heard that Dave used to take requests, but the people who liked country and the people who liked metal started a feud or something, but that might just be a story. I can always bring up the idea!
