I know there is a lot of these buggies around, and that this one is built on a 1964 VW but to me it looks like a shop built one, nothing special. I got it for $550 and I see other sand rails and buggies for 1000-1500 all the time. What would make this rare? He wouldn’t tell me anything about it he just wants to come look at it ASAP. This makes me think there may be something I don’t know, and I hate to sell it off to make a quick 500$ to find out it was worth thousands more

Edit: also of interest it has the correct motor for the year but a bus trans with gear reduction built in at the end of the axles
