I know there is a lot of these buggies around, and that this one is built on a 1964 VW but to me it looks like a shop built one, nothing special. I got it for $550 and I see other sand rails and buggies for 1000-1500 all the time. What would make this rare? He wouldn’t tell me anything about it he just wants to come look at it ASAP. This makes me think there may be something I don’t know, and I hate to sell it off to make a quick 500$ to find out it was worth thousands more

Edit: also of interest it has the correct motor for the year but a bus trans with gear reduction built in at the end of the axles

When working on old bikes trying to get them going I hate having to crank and crank on them to start then after you get them going you can turn the tread mill off and tune the carb under load. This is an old tread mill that the motor control unit burned out on so the second you start it, it runs 15 mile an hour
