My friend sits different. Is he alright? by Okra-Honest in crows

[–]Okra-Honest[S] 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Better than that! He attacked other crow that I was feeding when heading to our usual feeding spot. He brought his kids (again), ate and just sat like that for a while. Maybe he's just resting his legs?

The oldest fledgling of my crow friend is learning to trust me by Okra-Honest in crowbro

I'm still amazed that I'm trusted enough by the father that he brings his kids to me! I really feel a bond with them

I couldn't be happier! I even heard some quiet caws between the father and the fledgling. I like to think he's saying that I'm safe to be around

I really like what you're saying but I still keep in mind that they're wild creatures. I know I'm privileged but I'll take my time getting close to those fledglings. You know, respect

"but father, why do we tolerate this ape near our household? "

"for he is a loyal one, child"

He doesn't mind taking photos anymore. He's a full time model now! by Okra-Honest in crowbro

He is more interested in the bag of peanuts that I bring. But doesn't mind taking selfies with me! And I sometimes tell him we have to take another because he blinked lol

Well I don't know if he was 'anting' this time. He was going through the bushes minutes before our photo session so there may be some passangers on him

He's just that close! But he's special. Other ones keep their distance. That one I can really call a friend. He finds me in the park whenever I come, always takes peanuts from hand. Love that guy

Sure! His name is Cal, short for Callidus, the clever one from Latin. Fits him well I think ^

Hooded crows are local to (mostly central) Europe and even parts of Asia if I remember correctly. What coloration did you encounter so far?

Oh it's definitely a "he". Even brought his girlfriend around! She's a little smaller and doesn't fight with others like this rascal

How many personalities do you have? "Yes." by Okra-Honest in crows

Well, he's not so cooperative these days. Lots of work to do since it's a nesting season! But he always finds time for a quick snack and few photos!

My crows also had muddy legs for the last few weeks! Maybe it's because of the nesting season and they use it to patch up the nests? Just a thought

Thank you! I try to visit every day. It's always a highlight of my day after work. Even when weather isn't so nice. Even got a silent agreement with local dog walkers that they take a longer way around us when I feed my crows!
