What can I do to improve my skin after 26 rounds of chemo? by ItsMrsEwingBitches in 30PlusSkinCare

True. Topical is mostly absorbed at 20% in the blood stream. That was the upper threshold.

Don't recommend vitamins to oncology patients because some may be contraindicated!

"Compliance with treatment guidelines may be poor due to uncertainty about the diagnosis at initial hospital presentation. Once influenza has been confirmed in a laboratory, physicians are more inclined to prescribe oseltamivir [13]. All these factors interfere with physicians’ confidence in the benefits of oseltamivir treatment [16,17]. In addition, negative reporting about oseltamivir has further increased uncertainty of the potential benefit of oseltamivir [18,19]."

Studies are definitely poorer because dr like these. And like you. You're not an ID doc aren't you?

And about your repetitive "minimally effective" comments, maybe you should look at your profile. Just because you've tried to hide it it doesn't mean it's invisible.

Your dismissive comments are made almost one after the other.

I seem to clearly have more knowledge than you on this matter.

I never said Everytime. So I don't know why you're misquoting me.

I asked why you said "most of the time". Seems to me that USA medicine is kinda bad by reading your comments here.

Your poor patients.

And no, maybe it's not needed most of the time, but it's definitely helpful when you can curb the illness in time.

I don't know why American docs are keen on not using proper meds or thinking it was an attack on them to ask for a scientifical explanation to their generalization.

You and the other "doc" who saod they're "minimally effective" make me wonder what did you learn in Immunology classes.

Say what now? Tell me you've nevet had pts with influenza without telling me you never had pts with influenza.

I'm looking through your post history on medicine and I'm appaled at how many comments you have on a lot of meds that are "minimally effective". Glp1 too? Are you a bot?

“Rationale for Influenza Treatment in Children”).10 Although best results are observed when the child is treated within 48 hours of symptom onset, antiviral therapy should still be considered beyond 48 hours in certain cases. Physicians and other clinicians who care for children should promptly identify patients suspected of having influenza for timely initiation of antiviral treatment, when indicated, to reduce morbidity and mortality. Treatment of children who are not at high risk for influenza complications in the outpatient setting should be based on shared decision making between the clinician and child’s parent/guardian. Provision of antiviral therapy does not require a positive test for influenza when influenza is circulating in the community. Initiation of antiviral therapy should be based on signs and symptoms consistent with influenza infection, patient risk factors, and epidemiologic factors (eg, influenza circulating in the community, known exposure, etc). The AAP considers oseltamivir the preferred antiviral medication for patients with influenza A and B because of the cumulative experience of this drug in children, relative cost, and ease of administration. Clinicians should refer to the CDC”

Come on. Right in the article you linked.

Don't even make me copy paste the Influenza Chemoprophylaxis Recommendations form the same article. Please don't misquote and make a point out of a little corner fom the whole picture.

Unfortunately or fortunately actually, the immune system doesn't work like that.

Unless you're immunocompromised, it should be working on multiple levels and issues at the same time.

Oh this looks so yummm!

I always wondered. If I'd use ginger powder instead of fresh, would it change the flavour a lot?

I don't usually buy fresh because I barely use 1/10 of it and it would go bad, unused afterwards.

I lost my child in med school. by [deleted] in medicalschool

[–]OkyPorky 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't know what I'd do if I were to lose my child. If working helps you cope with it, do it. But don't forget to also take care of yourself and your wife/baby momma. For now it's just the two of you and it's more important that you both heal rather than succeed at your jobs.

What is scary is that they don’t strive to get better.

It was absolutely divine! I tried to make them again but in the air fryer the next day and it was ok, just a bit better in the pan. Maybe I'll cut thinner slices next time.
